The New Leader of the Democrat Party

Senators Warren, Harris, Booker planning their presidential runs
By J. Marsolo
Senator Elizabeth Warren hopes to be the first 1/32 Native American president. There is no documentary evidence that she is a 1/32 Native American, and shehas not taken a DNA test to confirm.

But she is worried that Cory Booker got the jump on her when he started his 2020 campaign by attacking Jeff Sessions. Not to be outdone by Booker, Warren attacked Trump, the 2020 Republican nominee, through her smarmy questioning of Ben Carson, the HUD nominee.

The premise of Warren's questioning of Carson is that Trump, and his family, may make money from HUD contracts. This is laughable and ludicrous on its face. Dr. Carson seemed surprised and shocked by this line of questioning. Carson had prepared for the policy issues, but evidently Carson and his team did not realize how low Warren would go. Welcome to the DC Democrat world, Dr. Carson.

Warren asked the following "questions":

My concern is whether, among the billions of dollars that you will be responsible for handing out, can you just assure us not one dollar will go to the benefit of the president-elect or his family?

...and...

The problem is that you can't assure us that HUD money, not of $10 varieties, but of multimillion-dollar varieties, won't end up in the president-elect's pockets. And the reason you can't do that is that the president-elect is hiding his business interests from you, from me and the rest of America. The president-elect knows, and his family knows, what will benefit him, but the American people don't.

Warren must believe that Trump wants to make money off HUD just las she used her unsubstantiated claim of Native Americana heritage for political and professional purposes. Warren represented herself as a minority law teacher and Native American law professor while employed at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) Law School.

This designation was then used by Harvard Law School when she taught at Harvard, without her correcting it if she disagreed.

Also jumping into the race is California Democratic (what else?) senator Kamala Harris. She questioned CIA nominee Mike Pompeo by asking if he will commit to not discriminating against gay, female, transgender, and Muslim employees of the CIA. Pompeo said yes, and it appeared that he did not want to insult Harris by reminding her that such discrimination is illegal. Harris then asked Pompeo if he would commit to accepting the "weight of scientific evidence" about global warming/climate change.

Pompeo tried to explain to Harris that the CIA collects information for the policy makers to use. The CIA does not get involved in policy issues of global warming.

We have Booker, Warren, and Harris running for the 2020 Democratic nomination. All three are appealing to the same left-wing base to raise money, and all are using the confirmation hearings to advance their campaigns.

Warren and Booker seem vicious and dishonest in the Hillary mold, while Harris seems in the Joe Biden Dim Bulb mode.

Warren wants to run for President the next time around. I wonder if Booker could be the VP or if he wants to go for the top spot himself? Warren does not really need to claim to be Native American anymore, she already has 1 or 2 points in her favor on the oppression olympics score card (Female and possibly Gay?). I am not sure about Kamala Harris...I doubt it.

Could be, but as I said in the previous post, the issue Warren has is she will be 71. The dems already tried to put up an old lady and it failed. That hurts Warren. She is a woman but we have already seen that being black supersedes being a female in the democrat party. Being gay, what the hell will that get you in the democrat party? A muslim goes and kills 50 gays and the didnt seem too concerned. The murder's father showed up to Hillary Clinton rallies. The only gays that dems care about are rich gays who donate money. If you are a poor, latino, gay dancing in an Orlando night club and you happen to get murdered by a muslim terrorist, its no big deal, in fact the family of the terrorist will be invited to the next democrat rally. They are tolerant.

You keep bringing up her age, I understand that you feel strongly about it and you are probably right. However, if anyone brings up her age to her then should could claim "glass ceilings" and "but Trump was 70 when he became President you male sexist pig!!!". "How dare you discriminate against me for being a 71 year old woman!". Do you think her own party would stop her when she reaches 71? Maybe Booker really is Obama v3.0 and Warren is yesterday's news? For once I wish a Democrat or some who hates Trump (besides Wildchild) would comment here.

The problem with identity politics is that you have a real issue trying to represent all of these groups with one, or even two people. White males are out for sure. Aged white females are probably done as well. All of these hate filled groups, black thug sympathizers, illegals, gay activists, radical Islamic sympathizers, anti capitalists, are so full of contempt for anyone other than themselves there will be much infighting. They may just eat each other, much to the delight of the right. Right now the ticket leans towards Michelle and someone very much in bed with supporting and advocating illegal immigrants, specifically Mexicans and Middle eastern Muslims.

Well Michele is well liked so that a step in the right direction, but there is no creativity in that choice. Nothing to really spark a lot of free media coverage. Not enough outrageousness!

The perfect candidate would be a nominally male, olympic figure skating medalist. That would be a way to slip in a white male without anyone realizing it. Lots of free media coverage and name recognition. The only drawback is they have to be 35 years old and by then hairlines tend to recede. Sequins don't look as good on a balding 35-year-old.

might want to hold off on that coronation (remember how that last one turned out?):

How Cory Booker went from progressive hero to traitor in under 2 days

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker was trying to walk to the men’s bathroom Tuesday afternoon when about 30 immigration activists surrounded him to offer their thanks. Booker had just vowed to testify against Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, a longtime immigration hard-liner, at the attorney general nominee’s confirmation hearing — something no senator had ever done to a colleague.

Progressives cheered the decision. When Booker followed through the next day and denounced Sessions’s record on race, many left-leaning voices were ecstatic:

But by Thursday, the story about Booker had flipped. The New Jersey senator and 12 other Senate Democrats had joined the bulk of the Republican caucus to kill a proposal aimed at lowering prescription drug prices. What made Booker’s vote all the more anguishing for the left is that the proposal won the backing of 13 Republican senators, and had a real chance of passing.

The recriminations came quickly.“This is classic Booker — stand out front on feel-good social issues, regardless of his past positions, and align with big money everywhere else,” wrote Walter Bragman at Paste Magazine.

Booker has long faced criticism on the left for cultivating the elite financial ties that much of the Bernie Sanders wing despises. And while it’s true that his vote may have had more to do with the concentration of the pharmaceutical industry in his home state, it’s also only served to confirm some progressives’ suspicions that he’s too closely allied with corporate interests in the Democratic Party.

[snip]

The backlash to Booker, building for a long time

Thirteen Democrats broke ranks with their party to defeat the Sanders-Klobuchar amendment. But the ensuing outcry from the left has been particularly concentrated on Booker, a national media star widely seen as a possible 2020 presidential candidate.

The Huffington Post accused Booker and the other defecting Democrats of “doing the industry’s bidding.” Jezebel noted that he had “completely disregarded overwhelming national sentiment” and that he was setting up Democrats “for a massive failure.” After asking why Booker would vote for an uncontroversial proposal, Slate’s Helaine Olen more or less settles on the conclusion that it must have been the campaign contributions.

Jezebel reported that Booker received $267,338 from pharmaceutical companies, which led some on the left to say that this money explained his vote.

“[Booker’s] decision to violate Senate norms is admirable,” wrote Sarah Jones at the New Republic of his speech against Sessions. “But his rejection of the Sanders-Klobuchar proposal is the latest entry in a legislative record that should worry progressives.”

Indeed, as Jones notes, no senator has raised more money from Wall Street than Booker. In 2012, then mayor of Newark, Booker memorably criticized President Obama for going after Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital — calling the attacks on private equity “ridiculous” and “nauseating.” He’s worked closely with Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and education reformer Michelle Rhee on improving Newark’s schools — a decision that’s been criticized by some for allowing private industry to influence public schools.

Cory Booker And A Bunch Of Democrats Prove Trump Right On Big Pharma
13 Democrats did the industry's bidding last night.

Don't see why one can't be a social liberal and fiscal conservative. This kind of crap of hard lining with the party is why compromise is never achieved and nothing ever gets done.

The next presidential candidate for the Democrats will never be a straight White Male. I think we can all agree that will not happen again in the next 4 to 8 years. Bill Clinton was probably the last White Male Democrat President. Because of the weak performance by Tim Kaine I am not even sure a VP will be Male AND OR White. If the Democrats want to continue to play identity politics then you would figure they might have at least one person in their party to get the "angry White Males in the rust belt vote".

Who will head the DNC? Who will be the next Democratic Presidential Candidate in 4 years? (Muslim, Gay, Female, Black) they must check mark one or more of these boxes.

Does it matter if they get the job done? It's just another job
