sorry.. couldn't find the specs. The price is a bit cheaper than a 360 Modena, and a bit faster than a Modena.

It may seem like a waste of money for buying such expensive toys, but at least you have the bragging rights.

If speed is the main thing. Might as well trade in a cow for a chevy nova on bricks... get a new motor, blower, etc... spend less than 20 grand (including the cow) and be able to beat a 200 thousand dollar Lamborghini. I hear this from southerners all the time... gees.

This is so true. I didn't get the vehicle (Benz) because it was the fastest thing out there. It was something that I liked. There are so many refurbished muscle cars out there that could handle many of today's speed duels.

An old Charger tricked out. Bring out an Olds 442 after a little transmission work. Heck, my Buick Regal SR from '77 was nowhere near its showroom stock condition. Not only was there a transplanted power plant, it had a nitrous unit. I took away a lot of weekend racing capital back in those days.

I think my upcoming pet project might be to take an older vehicle and modernize it for a Real head turning show piece. And I am definitely sure that it would be at a fraction of the cost of my new car. :)
 
me being young... I'm more into the newer cars, but still... older cars are nice. Sorry not an expert, so I don't know the years... but I really love the older Chevelles and Camaros. The sound of a winding turbo of a honda is nice... but the roar from those domestics... :eek: The new Z06 is nice. I was thinking about that today. Does 12 second 1/4 miles, over a 1G of lateral acceleration straight from the dealership all for 50 grand... that's a bargain. Throw in a supercharger and spiff up the suspension, that should beat almost anything at the race track.

As far as the plastics... didn't know that it improved the safety of a car. I thought it made it worse. What I don't really like is all the plastic in the interior. For example, the kind of interior you'd find in a new Ford. It just looks cheesy in my opinion

Ouch, stay away from those same camaros that you speak of if they are from the early seventies and hoped up just a bit. In my youth, we were clocking ten and change for 1/4 times. Chicago's south side, the rainbow beach area after hours provided many memories.

I remember a guy who had an AMC Javelin that would have given you lunch and taken all your change from your fifty grand plastic joy. There were quite a few blistering quick Dodge's (hemi's) around there also. Today's toys are quite tame in comparison. Those truly were the days. You could buy a NASCAR monster right off the showroom floor. :)
