Serious question - Is this guy breaking the law? There are some anti-hacking laws on the book that prevent you from doing certain things to other people's computers. Whatever he's doing to create thousands of hits an hour on his threads might be illegal. anybody know for sure?

Simple to detect by the use of cookies. Once detected, Web Site administrators can handle things easily from there. However, I don't know offhand of any way to prevent the use of Auto Refresh code / meta tags / prorgams. My opinion is that it cannot be 'blocked' from the server side.
