In other games of interest, the Cowboys embarrassed the Bears at Soldiers Field in front of a national Tv audience. Cowboys QB Tony Romo showed the Bears' fans what top-notch NFL quarterbacking is all about, dodging a ferocious Bear's defense all night and making clutch throws on the run. The contrast to Rex Grossman was all too apparent. Grossman seemed lost, throwing the ball up for grabs. I can't imagine the Bears don't put vet Brian Griese under center for the rest of the season. With their defense, all they need is a signal caller who can manage the game and not turn the ball over repeatedly.

The Steelers showed the up and coming 49ers how far they still have to go. Can GB really be for real? Sure looked that way against the Chargers, who under new coach Norv Turner have already equalled last season's loss total. Wipe that grin off your face, Marty Schottenheimer.

its called being stubborn..thats the only reason they kept him last season (trough the rough patch ) and will continue doing so until the pressure is just too much...it goes hand in hand with the coaching job...BIG EGO = Being stubborn . There is no reason to keep grossman when he has thrown for 6 INT... and looks like an amateur...

You're saying they'd rather lose games than admit they made a mistake? I guess they figure they will still win enough to get home field in the playoffs, and Rex will learn and improve. Frankly, based on the little I've seen, I think that would be a mistake. The kind of mistake that gets coaches fired eventually. To me, he just doesn't have a feel for the game. Maybe he never got a pass rush at The U, so he never learned to deal with it. He gets flustered and puts it up for grabs. What they needed was a solid veteran QB, like Jeff Garcia. Griese has washed out as a starter at a couple of teams, but he has to be better than Grossman at this point.

yes many coaches do that, not necessarily with the intention of wanting to lose but more of a ego thing....bledsoe, rex etc etc....hell wayne huizenga did it with wanndstet...

Which coach is under the most pressure now? A new guy like Cameron who hasn't won, a guy like Lovie Smith whose Bears have started slow or maybe Norv Turner, with two failed head coaching assignments on his resume already? I say Norv. The Bolts look like a different team.

Yes Gibbs needs to go. But IMO, Jason Campbell will never progress enough to be a big time NFL QB. Plus, Synder is in the bottom 1/4 of owners in the NFL.

But those throwbacks were pretty cool.

I've been watching one long commercial called the Monday Night Advertising. For love of God ...every two plays for 3 straight hours is a got damn commercial.

I cannot believe how much the NFL sucks.

Plenty of Redskins fans would agree. We're in a tough position with him. He is totally revered and would never be asked to step down, even by Danny Snyder. But the team has made some disastrous free agent moves under his direction and he doesn't seem able to respond quickly during the game. The team brought in offensive guru Al Saunders last year to run the offense, since it was apparent that Gibb's old approach wasn't cutting it against modern defenses. Saunders has not lived up to expectations, but there is disagreement if the problem is him, the personnel or Gibbs.

To get shut down by a Giants defense that hasn't stopped anyone all year was just inexcusable.

Gibbs has one more year on his contract. There is some feeling that if this year's team doesn't make the playoffs at least, he will not return for a lame duck year. There is no secret either that Snyder would like to snag Bill Cower to coach the team when Gibbs steps down. That would be a very popular choice with fans.
