Let's take a quick look over my picks. My initial take was to go with the Redskins and give the 3 1/2 but I changed my mind and said avoid it. Lucky thing. Actually, I forgot about that and wrote the above post thinking I had picked the game, so I gave my self a lot of aggro yesterday for nothing.
Anyway, I did say take GB, the Lions and Cowboys and they all covered, so I was 3-0 this week. It took a late surge by GB, so I was lucky there. The Lions blew out Denver. Can they be 6-2? And they were totally blown out and dominated by the Redskins? The Cowboys gave the Iggles a good shellacking, plus the Iggles fans got a special treat by seeing TO shred their defense. I've always despised the Eagles from the days of Chuck Bednarik, but you have to feel for Andy Reid. For my money, he is one of the class guys in the league. If Philly has any sense, and they do because other than NE they are one of the best run franchises in the league, they will give him whatever time and space he needs to weather this horrible personal crisis.
Looking over the games, I realized I made a huge mistake not taking the Titans at home against Carolina, which had no healthy QBs. Actually, I am surprised that game didn't go off the board. Sometimes, the obvious play is the correct one.
I also liked TB, NO and my favorite darkhorse team, the Bills, but I found one reason or another to avoid those games.
Tonight brings an interesting matchup with two of the classic smashmouth teams in the league, the Steelers and Ravens.
