The National Debt Falls By $102 Billion Since Donald Trump's Inauguration

Yeah, because coming into office with a 1.1 trillion dollar deficit, 2 wars and an economy losing 500,000 jobs a month wont effect a presidents debt.Thank god Reagan and Bush didn't come into office under those circumstances,I can only imagine the debt they would have racked up.

The war wasn't started when Obama took over. It's in the base comparison with Bush. Only additional spending makes it go up from that point.

Once they end the debt ceiling accounting gimmicks that 102 billion will have to be paid.

Where do your fantasy figures come from?

According to the U.S. Treasury as of August 24, 2017, the national debt is $19,845,100,367,124.09.

Well Whadya Know,as soon as they ended the debt ceiling accounting gimmicks the debt jumped to 20,162,176,797,904.13.

National debt hits $20 TRILLION for the first time - and just days after Trump signed bill to raise the ceiling
  • Days after President Donald Trump signed a bipartisan bill to raise the debt ceiling for three months, the US hit $20 trillion of national debt
  • The Treasury Department said statuary debt was increased by $318 billion
  • Trump signed the $15 billion hurricane relief package passed by Congress on Friday
The US hit $20 trillion of national debt for the first time in history. This record comes days after President Donald Trump signed a bipartisan bill to raise the debt ceiling for three months.

The Treasury Department said statuary debt was increased by $318 billion. Before the bill was finished, the national debt was at $19.84 trillion.

The House voted 316-90 for the measure that would refill depleted emergency accounts as Florida braces for the impact of Hurricane Irma and Texas picks up the pieces after the devastation of the Harvey storm.

Oh well : if one does not look to the different sides of the story, one could have been mistaken that debts were decreasing at a rate of 1/2 trillion$ per year. Looks like that was not really the true picture of the situation

Inflation makes the overall number higher.Bushs debt is higher than Reagan but Reagan was the worse of the two with debt since Reagan nearly tripled it.On a percentage basis,Obama's debt is lower than Reagan's and Bush.Much of Obamas debt is also from polices and wars he did not start while most of Reagans and Bushs debt is from their policies.

So what do we have with Obama's "lower" debt?

1. The largest DEBT we have ever had.
2. Part time, entry level jobs turned into careers at minimum wages.
3. A failed "leading from behind" foreign policy.
4. The emergence of "a JV league ISIS".
5. Chamberlainesqe Appeasement of the highest order with Iran and NK.
6. Last but not least a totally f****** up health care system that is imploding by the day.

So what did we get with Reagan's "triple debt"?

The end of the Soviet Union, which led to the first surplus in modern history.

1.On a % basis lower than Bush or Reagan.

2.Years of consecutive job growth after coming into office with Bush losing 800,000 jobs.

3.Obama's foreign policy was a success.Kept America safe,no major terrorists attacks unlike Bush /9-11.Killed Bin Laden dead and a bunch of other high level terriost.Stopped Iran from getting nukes unlike Bush letting N Korea get nukes.Didn't increase defense spending 300 billion a year etc

4.If Bush hadn't invaded Iraq there would be no Isis

5.Prevented Iran from getting nukes and never had us on the brink of war with NK like the current buffoon in office.

6.Dropped the uninsured health insurance rate, everyone has access to healthcare banning preexisting conditions.

Obama did a great job.No wonder...

Obama ranked 12th best president by historians in new C-SPAN poll

Josh Hafner , USA TODAY Published 10:26 a.m. ET Feb. 20, 2017

Just weeks after leaving the White House, President Barack Obama ranks as the 12th best U.S. president overall in a new poll of historians conducted by C-SPAN ahead of Presidents Day.

It's the first time Obama was eligible for the Presidential Historians Survey, which asked 91 historians to rank all 43 former presidents across 10 categories. Those include "Pursued Equal Justice for All," in which Obama ranked 3rd, and "Relations with Congress," in which he ranked 39th.

Abraham Lincoln retained his top spot for the third time in the poll, which debuted in 2000 and last took place in 2009. Other consistently high-ranking presidents include George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt, all of whom made the top five overall in each survey.

Also notable: George W. Bush bumped up three spots to 33rd since the poll's 2009 edition, while Bill Clinton stayed steady at 15th.

The biggest loser since the 2009 survey is Andrew Jackson, the populist president whose portrait adorns the wall of President Donald Trump's Oval Office. Jackson dropped five spots, from 13th to 18th.
