The Mystery of Why Japanese People Are Having So Few Babies

I though the reason was they simply weren't allow to by opressors. People in higher positions (politician etc) were cutting fundamental rights to families.

Outlaw farmer Cédric Herrou a hero to some but a people smuggler to others

SBS asks the questions: Is he a hero or a people smuggler? And should he be jailed for doing what he believes is right?

“It’s not up to me to judge who’s black or white, legal or illegal. That’s not my job. I’m a farmer. My job is to feed people,” Mr Herrou told Dateline.

“These are people with desires, with pasts, with families waiting for them; people who are in love; parents who love their kids; kids who love their parents. Some kids cry for parents who are still in Italy or dead. They’re people with emotions, desires and hopes for the future.”

Not my idea, but makes sense to me. Japan is already printing money like there is no tomorrow. Why not give $100,000 to any couple that has a baby? Increases population growth and gives families money to spend.

For many years, the fertility rate of EVERY major industrialized has been below the replacement rate (2.1 children per woman) required to main the population. Japan is low at 1.46%, but only slightly below China at 1.57, and Germany at 1.50%. The USA is 1.84.

The problem with a declining population is that most of the economy (Social Security, Medicaid, retail spending, the price of housing, government deficit spending, etc) is based on the assumption that the population will be steadily increasing. The USA, Canada and most of Western Europe solves the problem by simply allowing more immigrants. Japan's main problem is that they pretty much refuse to do even minimal immigration, and remain one of the most homogeneous major populations on earth.
I love the fact Japan has made the wise decision to not let the scum of the earth invade their great country. Don't let them in!

Actually it is a myth that most immigrants are the scum of the earth, or "bad hombres". You should Google this for confirmation: By almost every measure the average immigrant to the USA outperforms the average USA citizen. The average immigrant is better educated, more likely to be employed, earn more, and less likely to commit crimes. 40% of major companies were created by immigrants, and almost all advanced STEM degrees goes to immigrants. The same applies to the children of immigrants. However, by the 3rd generation the outperformance disappears.

You can do further economic analysis.

Imagine when a youth can inherit more than 2 houses from the grand-grandparents and grandparents, keeping one for self-living, selling one for bank saving, and all others for rental incomes. Who will be going to learn STEM, or work for minimum wages to pay any taxes.

No any new houses would be built - No demand.

No incentive going to school and university - No need for any teachers or professors - partly because nobody even after education is suitably qualified.

No competitions at all, that would most likely lead to No innovations!

Which developed country would want to become like that!?

imo, the whole world and all countries should be more and more welcoming secularism.

Not only any person (male or female) can freely get married to another person (male or female), but also any country/state (democratic or non-democratic) can freely get married to another country/state (democratic or non-democratic).

A truly peaceful world, rather than spending monies and humans on meaningless wars.
