The Movie Thread

Another good free stream on Netflix:

The Dualists:

D'Hubert (Keith Carradine) and Feraud (Harvey Keitel) are officers in Napoleon's army who challenge each other to a series of bloody duels. In the final clash -- which comes after many years of fighting -- D'Hubert finally bests Feraud, but things don't end there. Better keep your powder dry for the explosive finish! Based on a story by Joseph Conrad, The Duellists marks director Ridley Scott's feature debut.

(mind you, a period piece, not a lot of explosions)

not a spoiler ... it was obvious from the first scene, you are aware that we won WWII right? Not enough time has passed yet to make a film glorifying the accomplishments of Nazi propogandists, that's why I included that little nugget of info ... The Nazi's Die! great marketing

pretty intense flick

I've got a strong stomach, but from the reviews, I decided to take a pass on this.

Quote from bronks:

Just saw "Irreversible" w/Monica Bellucci (2002)

...Hmmm, where to begin...

- This film had two scenes of the most realistic portrayals of violence I had ever witnessed on film.
- The camera work, especially in the beginning, can be nauseating. Just fight through it. There's a reason.
- "Memento" esque
- You will be talking about this movie the next day... good OR bad.
- Monica Bellucci fully nude is a whole separate issue. I'm sensitive to the movie's theme, but not that sensitive not to comment on Ms. Bellucci's glorious NATURAL tata's!
- Europeans are weird.

Edit: Male genitalia alert. Don't say I didn't warn ya. After all, the first sequence does take place in a fag bar called THE RECTUM.

Now playing on Netflix.

Has anyone seen Agora yet? I really liked it. What did you think?

(sorry, I just have to use pics for everything, I am such a visual person!)

I cried at the end...

(reminds me of nitros thread of a good movie w out having to have the big stars in it- well at least I didn't know any of them)

Hi everyone :)

I'm a big movie fan but I got a little disappointed over the last few years :/ .. basically because there arent any good mafia / gang movies any more.. Why is that?? Almost everyone I know loves this kind of movie but there arent any new ones that could mess with Scarface or the Godfather.. very sad :/ .. I hope this will change soon!!!

Just finished "Salt"

I thought it was good. If you like action movies, I'd recommend it. It definitely kept my attention the entire flick, no slow parts at all. I like Angelina Jolie too. Either you love her or hate her in movies imo. I think she's a good actress.
