The Movie Thread

i did not like Blade runner all that much. i think the reason is that i read the book first and watched the movie later. i liked the book but the movie somehow did not register with me after the book. :(

Oh well that's def a spoiler. Almost ALWAYS is the book better than the movie!!!

Let's put Donnie Darko, I, Robot, or Minority Report in it's place??

for my own list i actually will now replace Blade Runner with "Space Odyssey 2001". with "I, Robot" and "Minority Report" for me it is the same story as with Blade Runner. Have not seen Donnie Darko

Some fantastic comedies in that list.

The most troubling selection for me would be 'The Jerk'. When I saw it as a kid, it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen, just thinking about it would make me laugh.

But when re-watching many years later, I was very disappointed to say the least...

To avoid the agony of such disapppointment, I would subsitute 'Being There' - also from 1979, with Peter Sellers at his finest:
