The Movie Thread

Quote from shortie:

any suggestions for movies that can rival "The Usual Suspects"?

Quote from Rearden Metal:

I'm always looking for movies with brilliantly unexpected twist endings. I'll name my favorites, and hopefully someone can point out a few more good ones that I've missed:

Top shelf:

Lucky Number Slevin
The Sixth Sense
Angel Heart

Honorable Mentions:

The Skeleton Key
Jacob's Ladder

Loser movies that try to belong with those mentioned above, yet fail miserably:

The Village
The Life of David Gale

So... any more?

looking back through the thread looks like a good list for me.

have not seen Lucky Number Slevin or Jacob's Ladder

I haven't been keeping up on the thread at all, but I think some of Christopher Nolan's movies are in league with this one. 'Memento', the Prestige', and from what I've heard 'Inception' is right up there to

Saw "Inception". Pretty good but I could have written a better ending.

I recently watched "The Reader" and really enjoyed it.

Watched "Contact" (for the 50th time for me) with my daughter, and it is now one of her favorite movies. There is a God afterall...If she could learn to appreciate "Cast Away" that would be awesome, but very few 13 year olds (let alone girls) like it. "Small moves Ellie, small moves".
