I have no qualms with an accurate depiction of war.

Tommy Lee Jones's character was a lifer. See him make his rack in the motel? Did you notice how squared away he always was with everything? No matter what he went through with his son, for him to completely change a life of military disposition and discipline after a few days of hardship, completely smacks of manipulation by the director. Did you even notice who the actors were? All that was missing was Sean Penn and Jane Fonda.

Have you've been in the service?
Do you realize what a disgrace it is to fly our flag upside down other than for it's true intent?
 
I've just cut my losses and ejected halfway through a movie that seems to suck in the exact same manner <i>Australia</i> did.

Australia isn't even close to being one of the worst films out there... and that's a large part of the problem. It's just barely interesting enough to sucker you into keeping your hand off the eject button, yet not nearly entertaining enough to be worth watching at all.

Well, I now feel it is my civic duty to warn the 'Australia sucks' consensus crowd to stay away from 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' for this exact same reason. Painfully Sloooooow, yet <i>almost</i> interesting enough to prolong one's agony. Just say no!
 
The family that preys together. Blockbuster sent me this piece of crap along with another one, each of which I never ordered. Guess they do that when they can't fill the order correctly.

Hope it doesn't happen again but it probably will.
 
Ok, one more GLOBAL SPOILER:

*The mysterious traitor 'inside the organization' who's been tipping off the other side ALWAYS has to turn out to be a seemingly innocent trusted friend & confidant of the protagonist... OR the organization's top leader.
 
I'm a fan of Park Chan-wook films these days. Old Boy is one of my favorite movies, Joint Security Area is also good. Haven't watched any of his other works but they're on my hard drive ;)
 
I just saw "Charlie Wilson's War" last night... It's probably one of the best movies I've seen in 10 years. The great thing about it is that it really happened. Well, as much as Hollywood can make it out to be anyway.
