Ah, well thats the trick, and that's why we love movies.

P2-much the same opinion, but watching it a few times, and having the privelege of watching the DVD-making of, Kiera Knightly is so vastly hotter than is ever taken advantage of in the film, (gag me, shes a babe, you know what im talking about...) its just unbeleivable.

Heat, sure, its a classic-in its genre, but that only begs the question, what was its genre?
Does it compare, to the sheer grittiness of "The French Connection"?
(Gene Hackman, & Roy Scheider or something, the guy who was in jaws)

I saw that in the threatre. Then I rented it to see on my HD TV through Comcast HDOnDemand. I tell you, it looked way better on my screen than in the theatre.

Eva Green is gorgeous. She has something that is intangible that I can't put my finger on. It may just be class, or maybe I see great intelligence in her eyes.

The other night I watched V for Vendetta.

The reviews sucked , but I kinda liked it.


And yeah, Casino Royale was good. I wasn't happy when I first heard Daniel Craig was gonna be Bond, but he surprised me.

Can't wait to see him again as 007.
 
There was long discussion on the TMF movie board about which was better, The Illusionist or The Prestige. Personally, I thought they both fell short. (SPOILERS!) The Prestige was convoluted and ridiculous and ultimately a cheat, since there was actual magic in Jackman's version of the trick. And he just keeps killing off the new Jackmans? That leaves a lot of Jackman's just lying around after a while. Furthermore, if the new Jackman was an exact copy of the old Jackman, wouldn't the new Jackman know he was about to be shot? Would he just stand there and wait for it?

I thought the first half or so of The Illusionist was great but then when they got into the actual "scam" it didn't pay off for me since it was obvious it was indeed a scam and it didn't seem especially clever or intricate. Maybe I've seen too many of these "pull the old switcheroo" type flicks but they rarely fool me. (The only one that I can remember that completely got me, I mean completely, was Matchstick Men. Great flick, best con-job-twist since The Sting.)

Yeah, Casino Royale was excellent. But I had no doubt that Craig would be good in the role. I've seen him play a variety of characters, he's a fine actor. He's in a little-seen gangster flick called Layer Cake, a good one. If you're a fan after seeing him as Bond, you might like that one.

Gladiator - Exxxxxcellent! One of my favorite favs of all time!

Alexander - Possibly the 2nd or 3rd worst movie ever made. (Sorry dude, gotta call 'em as I see 'em...)
