The Movie Thread

Quote from RCG Trader:

The message behind the Matrix is a compilation of the way humans deal with their reality. It is not a simple message. Everything in that movie had a meaning to digested. A person that is accustomed to a clear cut protagonist/antagonist outline might have some trouble with this movie at first. But a clear understanding to this one trilogy would save one several college classes in philosophy and comparative religion.

+1 :D

I still wonder if she has been able to do the same...:D
Now, how many of you reading this will run to see it next...

Yeah, "quite depressing" is a gross understatement. Jesus, was the video guy on uppers, valium?
Harrowing doesn't cut it. Devastating, like losing a loved one, or being involved in a serious car crash devastating, is closer, absolute shock. Dont think a simple movie can do that?
Ok, you were warned.
Make no mistake, I loved the movie, although I understand why Mortenson wasn't nominated now, for such a brilliant performance.

I haven't felt that "unnerved" since watching the original Japanese version of "The Ring", I was stoned when I saw that-and in comparison, it was like watching "The Sound of Music" in f#cking technicolor.

I felt the need to watch "Sherlock Holmes" afterward's, just to take the edge off-great movie, I loved it.

Downey was at his comic best, I didn't even recognize Jude Law as the unflappable Watson.
Sure, this is NOT the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle "Sherlock Holmes", but it would not have been such a great, funny, action packed popcorn romp if it was, so that didn't bother me.

4 stars for its genre-It was going to be 3.5, but I really needed this movie in the circumstances, and it came through in spades.

Anyone that doesn't think

Tropic Thunder(2008) was the best movie in the last 50 years is an idiot.
no newspaper had informed that article. I think you should react with this LOL

Quote from shortie:

Deer Hunter - 9/10 (a bit too long otherwise 10/10)

Matrix - 8/10 (agree with too contrived)

Schindler's List - 6/10 (8/10 if one has Jewish roots)

King of NY - 8-9/10 (love Christoffer Walken)

***Tip***:

if you love Christopher Walken and love Sci-Fi movies DO NOT EVER watch "Communion" (1989)
this list is not perfect. should have TROY and Titanic

i hated TROY from that incredulous scene when the reluctant warrior brad pitt runs up and kills the giant in like 3 secs.

i mean c'mon, i literally turned it off from there.

how real is that?

i thought i was going to see some history animated.

instead a bunch of digital graphic sh^t.

:D

I had to do the same.

I actually concluded, using my amazing powers to sniff conspiracy, that BB had put the movie in the top 20 section on purpose, as they knew with certainty, people would have to rent another movie to get over it.

It worked, I was so happy to see the next movie, can't recall what is was, if it was good or bad, but it felt really good....
...:p
