To me the single biggest mistake the Democrats are committing is not killing the filibuster. Who cares if there will be retribution from the Republicans once they are back in power. If the Democrats passed all of their progressive legislation including single payer Medicare for all, a codifed right to abortion, a ban on assault style weapons, and passed legislation that would effectively castrate both Citizens United and gerrymandering while protecting voting rights, the Republicans would never be back in power, not in there present incarnation anyway.
2.Add 5 Justices to The SC
Is this really a cause or something that just popped up due to recent SC decision. I ask because adding the SC does not achieve anything on its own except to simply push one agenda. GOP can do the same.
100% of repug politicians are in it for themselves, are bought and paid for and by extension bad. About 50% of dems are on that camps (talking DC legislative here). This is a problem holding the country back. I am not referring to belief that all politicians are a problem. I am referring to the unfounded belief that most politicians are crooked, incompetent, untrustworthy and lack integrity. This is not true. Most are competent trustworthy and honest. There are too many that are not of course --- one is too many --- but they don't represent the majority.
"If you think government is bad, you will create bad government." --- George Soros
This quote above is an example Soros gives of the application of "reflexivity".
Continuously packing the court doesn't inherently have any drawbacks IMO and favors democratic rule so dems would have nothing to worry aboutlong term.Is this really a cause or something that just popped up due to recent SC decision.
