Do you have a b2b2r2b (1548-1608) sequence with ftt on ym that tells you to go short after bar 7 on ES? Hint: YES.

Do you have r2r2b2r (1610-1620) sequence with ftt on ym that tells you to reverse after bar 9 on ES? Hint: YES.

In a short while, as you learn, you will find that all the expenses of trading are trivial compared to the extraction you take from the huge pools.

One test of good displays is how fast their programers can improve their platforms based upon your directions. For example look at how you can interface the snippets we have provideed to the whole field of providers and secondly notice how many of these ideas have actually become part of the libraries of the providers.

Lastly, look at the private library service capacity of the providers. See if they provide super export/ import services so you can run your ATS component off their service and get back on the service display promptly. On some platforms this capability is called, in programmer's parlance, a global variable capability.

Footnote: you will also have to assess the cleanliness of the data feed. Most are very very subpar.

One of the CW general beliefs you will come to know is that most people have never seen the markets in operation. Acquire that belief ASAP.

Hi Jack,

I have been trading the beginners equity method and wanted to ask you a very brief question.

I see you have simplified the whole thing with the 1 pager you have posted several times.

If I may...

1. Does the FRV have to be maintained every half hour to stay in the trade or only by EOD as specified in the journals?

2. Same question for PRV. I know that traditionally we exited on this and now it appears, as long as it maintains we hold. Is this correct and is it also done by half hour or EOD?

Thank you. I know we have had a fun history together in the past, but I am here to succeed and learn.

That was back in the days of the SF stock exchange.

Right now you should be long gold, long silver, long AAPL, long rough rice.

But you can't do that because you are smart.

How's one out of four?

Hey everyone, obviously a single book or article can't make you a great trader. However, when I was just getting started, I read a great book that really got into the trading psychology. It's called Tools and Tactics for the Master Day Trader. It's by Oliver Velez and Greg Capra. I don't necessarily love how Oliver Velez has run his companies and I'm not supporting the authors necessarily, but the book actually has some good solid analogies and points of interest. I'm not a day trader, but much of the book was applicable to all styles of trading. It's not super-advanced, so if you're looking for something technical, it's probably the wrong read. Thanks.

Quote from tradingjournals:

What are the most insightful articles you have ever read about trading and investing on the web? The type of articles that gave you the "ha ha" moment, a breakthrough in your thinking about trading/investing, or simply significantly reinforced something very important you already knew about investing/trading.

I get a lot of "ha ha" moments reading Elite Trader. In fact, I just got one now reading your post.

Quote from Joshdarnit:

Jack Hershey has a tax lien against him for unpaid taxes to the tune of $82,000 that was filed in 2006. If you go to Maricopa County's recorder web site (http://recorder.maricopa.gov/recdocdata/) and type into the Recording Number fields, the following number: 2006 1575958 and click "search" you will be able to see the recorded document.

Wait. I followed up on this website and it leads to a John T. Hershey.

Is Jack and John the same person?

How do you come to the conclusion that he mooches off his ex-partner? I'm curious.

you are the two grandma`s talebearers

:D :D

Poor little old grandma.. Someone's gotta protect her from the big bad wolf.

Haha.

Nah.. I'm clueless about this Jack Hershey guy.. I'm so new to this site.

I did look into Hershey's "program" and it's a bit too complicated for my taste.

To each his own...

why you care about Shelly "The Machine" Levine then?

Pretty much doing the opposite of all "conventional" wisdom.

None of these "trade the trend" guys can even quantitatively define when a trend begins and end but they sure are good at posting charts after the fact.
