Nah, man. I'm not offended. Neither was I offended by your earlier post that I replied to. In order to be offended, I would have to take you and what goes on at this site seriously.
People who know me here know that I come to bullshit with others and occasionally tweak a vendor for amusement as a break from the tedium of being online so many hours. Yeah, pathetic, I know, but this is what happens when porn and video games no longer do it for you.
Obviously, you missed that my feigned-outrage response was just me bullshitting with you, as I tried to make clear with my remark about making people smarter and better looking. It's just as well, for I don't think it's possible for you to know where I and the people you are trashing are coming from. Not that I group myself with Spyder and the Jackmeister. The time, energy and effort they put into helping others I have no desire to emulate; nor would I be that good at it. I'm more of a live and let live kind of guy.
With regard to looking closely at Spyder's charts, yeah, you're right, I haven't followed closely what he does. There was no reason to. I've studied Jack's writings going back to his Usenet days and I always go to the source of information if possible. A lot of people who have difficulty understanding Yahweh Jack say they've been helped tremendously by the Spyder Jesus. Even though Spyder and I have disagreed at times, who am I to doubt them? I say "hallelujah" and go do my own thing.
To you this is a case of an underdeveloped bullshit meter and deficient common sense on my part. Your implication, of course, is that you, in contrast, have a well-developed bullshit meter and abundant common sense. That's why you spent a lot of time looking into what Spyder and Jack do and when some bullshit registered on your meter your common sense told you there was more to be uncovered so you kept investigating and found bullshit on top of the bullshit on top of the bullshit you originally found. Good job. The people you steer away from their bullshit will thank you. And the people who still believe? Well they're fools anyway so fuck 'em.
Regarding the fool gathering in Vegas with which you have some fixation, I had a great time, although I drank too much at the after party and had to leave early. Also I arrived a bit late in the morning and had to sit at the very back table. I set my cellphone and pack of gum on the table and the guy sitting next to me asked what I was gonna take notes with. I said I wasn't there to take notes. He asked what I was there for then. I said to meet people, especially Jack, and enjoy myself. Unfortunately Jack had to cancel because of eye surgery.
When it came time for my turn to introduce myself, an awkward silence ensued when I stood up and said I was Trader666. I thought I might get mobbed on the spot so I quickly said I was joking and said my real ID, at which point there were a lot of relieved laughs. The event lasted the whole day but wasn't that bad with all the breaks. The fools came from all over the world to attend and I commend Spyder for having the energy to speak for almost the entire time. I didn't see any pies being thrown. As for the rest of my trip. . .What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
Regarding the wash DRILL, not wash trade, I consider that the best thing I did for myself to improve that I got from Jack. Very few have looked deeply into it. You needn't concern yourself with it either; I'm certain you'll find it to be bullshit. The comment about camtasias and crayola bars are lost on me, but I get the drift that you are calling me out as a trader. Well there have been days where I've probably lost more money than you will ever make in a year so I won't go tooting my own horn too much. Let's just say my skills are bullshit.
Finally, since you and I cannot easily connect with each other, I'll come right out and say don't flatter yourself that I'm taking the time to reply thoroughly to your post. I'm doing it for the sake of others with primitive bullshit meters and less common sense than you have. One thing I've tried to avoid on ET is steering people in any direction, let alone in a "wrong" direction. I find it better to bullshit a lot and speak only generally about trading if at all. I have recommended Jack's early writings and his two documents as a good FOUNDATION for beginning to learn about trading. Nothing has changed that opinion.

but i must say it started off really well
for those that actually read through all of this i would have this to say.
the first page is a bunch of vague ideas with no definite meaning.
Vagueness is used in 2 situations. When one is making up b.s and when things can't or shouldn't be said directly.
you choose what you take form here.
personally, i read one book and just looked at the chapter names and quickly scrolled though some other books and realized that they are all pretty much similar.
from there i forgot everything and looked at things for myself. soon bars lost their randomness, and everything had meaning,
For the life of me i cant explain how it happens, some times i see a move that may have happened years ago relate to what some see as an anomaly,
many people here use indicators or TRY to make channels. If it doesnt work the first time you test it out just shoot it out.
the idea of connecting tops to make a trend line is to easy, it is a summery of alot of work and the summery looses its magic when taking this short cut.
Take for example a moving average (which i have yet to use), why couldn't you come up with the idea? why have to read the end result of alot of work to think you understand it. You probably have no idea as you are simply looking at the end result. Reinvent the wheel, by doing so you understand where these things came from. More importantly you understand that by summarizing the idea to a button on your platform, most the meaning behind it is gone.
Good traders can write great books but don't cause there's more definite money trading.
alot of what was said on the first page i can really relate to. Its sad that people spent years before they stopped following and took another look for themselves. The mention of the idea of not having to do any drawings on a chart is hard for me to comprehend. I wonder if you all see what i see. I have learnt it on my own and don't know the terms.
I looked up fractals and saw a snow flake, something i can relate to but have yet to find a way to make money off it consistently.
but i do see it i also see it do weird things and have identified why it does this. I just watch things mostly, not relating movements to profit.. that just comes on its own when it is ready to come to me.
ill have to go back and read the first page and explore if the references made carry any weight. This is the first thread i read that makes any sense. Maybe it came to me at the right time to see if there is something i can add that i like.
As for the chart not being explained, i don't have it on my platform
but i would be surprised if it broke any rules i have created. the way it was presented shows me that it was done in a lazy fashion
some one trying to copy another, i do not think there is a failure of any kind if one didnt understand something they should of been out and not have lost money.
as for a comment on some one not taking advice from some one that cant put a sentence together, I am deeply offended.
Firstly, trading and writing use different parts of the brain, i would much rather work with some one that has alot of mistakes in sentence structure then some one who excels at it. having strengths in English many times equates to week analytically skills.
secondly, people that posted on the first page were giving information, like me, they can go back and edit before submitting.
but some people participating in this thread are offering help or guidance at no fee.
It would be up to the reader to make sense of the writing or to move on. (as many do with my posts lol)
to conclude...
the market is yours to learn. if you want to learn what others have learnt you may do so. but understand that nothing is given on a silver platter. expect vagueness. Mixed in with all the misinformation you probably will not be able to distinguish good advice from bad.
it is at this point you try everything or come up with your own. if you have confidence to dissect on your own you probably got what it takes. you should be feeling like you are discovering something everyday that no one has.
Nay sayers : why are you hear? your presence on this one good thread i found boggles my mind. At first i thought it was a strategy to get info. but the thread lost its magic once they showed up. so why ? shouldn't you be on a fundamental analysis thread or a non understanding of probability thread?
you dont see me going on your forum and saying that your all wrong. Even if i did go on there i would look for new ideas.
so why are you hear ? It truly makes no sense. After your post here did you go to a anti abortion forum and express your thoughts there too ? Is this just another random topic that you came across and felt you had to comment? IF so then can it not be said that you spend all your time dis'ing other ideas and dont have any time to learn about ideas ? If not , again why are you hear? what type of flaw does one have to express opinions about things one doesnt believe in with such a long post.
if you felt you were mislead in how to make a couple of million dollars using your laptop give me your email address and ill hook you up with some surveys or envelop stuffing contracts. I also know a prince in Africa that needs some help clearing some funds. hes very polite and his sentence structure is great!
Its cool how it was mentioned that people met and that people actually know people from their id's. It makes the trading world so much smaller.
I hope that either i have learnt enough to be at the level some claim to be or that i am on my way, i do not know anyones income here and on the net 1 trillion and 1$ doesn't really change much as i am a billionaire here.. (for this post only) but i feel what you guys are saying, i myself also do not have any indicators on my chart no moving averages dont even look at volume yet,, there's never been a need yet. and i never have a trade i regret as i wait and see what happens and if i don't like it i exit. Im not sure why that strategy on its own doesn't work for people. maybe they miss the profit part? maybe they cant gauge what is going on between 2 points (one of which they dont know where it lies)
i wonder if there are any good traders in montreal?
