As outlined in the other thread where I provided all the sources for the data including the CDC -- guns were only the leading cause of death of children and teens in 2020.... the trend did not extend into 2021 and 2022. The leading cause in all years (except 2020) for the past couple decades was accidents.
This being said -- guns were the second top cause of deaths in most years over past couple decades. But facts should matter for those who try to push the "guns are leading cause" narrative while posting charts that deliberately do not show 2021 & 2022. Because if you push an argument that guns are now the top cause of death -- a fact which is easily refuted by looking at 2021 & 2022 -- then the discussion becomes focused on the unfactual information rather than that guns -- as the top 2 cause of deaths in most years -- is still a significant problem and what are we going to do to address it.
