The US has lost the plot. The US seems to be losing strategic initiative in Africa, Middle East, with Mexico possibly moving to the questionable column. Several South American countries have expressed solidarity with Mexico.

One of my roommates has a Puerto Rican heritage. He translated what the Mexican President said in his media conference regarding Lindsey Graham's statements. Lindsey's statements including words like "Special forces" and "Drone strikes" didn't sit well with López Obrador. Basic concepts such as "respect" and "Sovereignty" apply. Who knew? Not Lindsey. My roommate laughed his ass off as he translated. More at the political incompetence of the Republicans than anything else. My roommate said Lindsey's statements generated over a million likes on social media, however.

There appears to be a mindset by certain establishment politicians the United States can push their weight around without consequences. It is like the US is flailing wildly as it continues to sink in International relevance. I'm all for addressing the drug epidemic in the US, but it requires the realistic assessment of the resources available and coordinating them effectively. For the most part, it seems like we haven't been coordinating well at all, for a long time.
