Does anyone argue that what this Pope is all about is not in accordance to Christ's teachings?

I find it fascinating that some "Christians" on the right are recoiling in horror when hearing the Pope talk about Christian ethics. Like they never heard Jesus talk about money and riches or the poor or acting altruistically.

Action on climate change is perhaps the best test of altruistic ethics. Not us, not now, but still we should pay for the future people.

who is this Jesus you talk about? Does he have a blog? I scanned the last 5 issues of the New York Times and I can't find any mention of him.
 
yeah... thats right... Jesus was walking around supporting all of Romes big govt ideas.

How did the Romans grow grapes in northern England? Perhaps because it was warmer than we thought.

A study suggests the Britain of 2,000 years ago experienced a lengthy period of hotter summers than today.

German researchers used data from tree rings – a key indicator of past climate – to claim the world has been on a ‘long-term cooling trend’ for two millennia until the global warming of the twentieth century.

This cooling was punctuated by a couple of warm spells.

These are the Medieval Warm Period, which is well known, but also a period during the toga-wearing Roman times when temperatures were apparently 1 deg C warmer than now.

They say the very warm period during the years 21 to 50AD has been underestimated by climate scientists.

Lead author Professor Dr Jan Esper of Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz said: ‘We found that previous estimates of historical temperatures during the Roman era and the Middle Ages were too low.

Don't look at me, I didn't start the thread.

I can understand, however, if someone who believes in God uses God to prove a point (even if I don't agree with them). But someone who is a self proclaimed atheist using religion to support a point...well that's kinda silly.

Not if he's pointing out the hypocrisy of self-righteous (part-time-and-only-when-it-suits-them) "believers." Surely you see the novelty in that.
 
pointing out hypocrisy is the ultimate drag. It is all around us, there is no end to it. Take my ex wife (please) she said she wanted one thing but she actually wanted another thing. If you ever have some time I could point out all the hypocrisy, but after a while it becomes the ultimate drag.
