The living/no job wage

"The model now that we're heading towards where we had one server for three or four tables, we're moving towards one server for ten tables, eliminating about two-thirds of our labor ultimately. But it's because of Cuomo, De Blasio, the liberal agenda."

Just another asshole that doesn't want to pay his workers fairly which means his employees will go to government assistance to make up the difference. Thankfully technology wont help assholes like that much.1 server per table in a dine in establishment wont get much repeat business.

I don't agree. Years ago I was a server at a fast paced restaurant. During the week, I would have 10 tables and did all the work(orders, drinks, run food, etc.). The restaurant did have a lunch rush everyday. I would have up to 7 tables on the weekend which was extremely busy turning tables all day. It would be easy to give great service with a 1:10 ratio if the server isn't taking orders and there is a dedicated food runner.

Waiter,I have a problem with my order.Hold on, I have 9 other customers ahead of you.

Tell them to go for it

its as if tony thinks that ordering businesses to pay more money for labor does not result in more technology to replace labor.

did you ever notice how many people dig a big ditch in a third world country vs how many dig a big ditch here. Here we have a back hoe and and one or two guys. in a third world country you can see 10 or 15 guys doing the same work.

did you know in India on the golf ranges you have people making little dirt tees instead of wood or plastic tees?

1.Thats true but the degree to which technology can replace labor differs by the type of business. This guy is trying to make the same threats as fast food restaurants but technology wont be able to make the same replacements in dine in restaurants anytime soon imo.

2.Businesses that don't pay employees fairly means their employees going on government assistance and voting for politicians who promise it.
