Lincoln might have had some part in freeing African Americans but once free he did not want to have anything to do with them. Lincoln was all for sending African Americans back to Africa.
What a missed opportunity. How much greater the US would be today.
We are stuck with them now. African Americans didn't know what to do with themselves then and they don't know what to do with themselves now.

Thank you for creating this thread of The Lincoln Project...an organization that devotes itself to prevent the re-election of Donald Trump...failed President, failed businessman and failed American.
Their marketing is extremely clever and truthful.
As a veteran, military family 4 generation deep (great grandfather) and proud supporter of United States Armed Forces...Trump has got to go.
The below polls need a comparison to better understand...back in 2016...Trump had 2x more favourable approval. Below polls for 2020 show a great change...he has lost the military.

In my native country (in EU) there was a poll. Over 153,000 people answered the following questions:
Questions:
1. Tax rate for the rich should increase
2. Freetrade treaties are good for the economy
3. Unions damage the economy
4. Higher education should be cheaper
5. The government handled the corona pandemic good
6. Wearing a mask should be obliged in public places
7. The US should again be a member of the WHO
8. Access to abortion should be limited
9. The government should organize a healthcare insurance for all citizens
10. Death penalty should be abolished
11. The US should build the wall on the Mexican border
12. The army should restore order regarding protest BLM
13. Kalasjnikovs, M-4 and AR-15 rifle should be banned.
14. Prisons should be exploited by the government, not by private companies
15. Undocumented immigrants should be extradited for small crimes
16. Social media should forbid extreme right messages, even if that would be against the right of free speech.
17. Black Live Matters movement is a justified way to fight racism
18. The US needs a President who can solve problems, even if that means breaking rules

The EU has been freeloading off the US since after WW II. Trump was the only politician to stand up and point out the truth, even though it was certainly not PC.
What country are you a native of?
Many EU countries are socialistic. They are small in size and population. They do not have a sizable group that does not contribute. When you have a small group that share a common culture and traditions, socialism makes more sense. These traits are dissipating in the US.
You have any group in your country doing away with certain holidays, making words forbidden, changing the names of schools, tearing down statues, and feeling that it is their inalienable right to riot and loot? Doubt it.
At all times it must be remembered that the average IQ of an African America is 85. This deficiency has evolved over 10,000's of years and is genetic. The inability of a large group of African Americas to function in todays society can not be remedied by any sort of social program.
