maybe FC understands that if we can help illegal immigrants in their home country we can prevent their carbon footprints from dramatically increasing.

That is not the real reason for FC's post. FC believes that Piezoe is a fake liberal that will go out of his way to appear liberal on social issues to build credibility among left wing folks only to come back and be a climate change denier.
Everyone knows that moving from a 3rd World Country to America dramatically increases your carbon footprint. Liberals outside of the USA will agree that American consumption and consumerism is out of control in the USA and that less Americans would be a good thing for the World.
However, they will never ever ever publicly agree to this if it appears to be anti-illegal immigrant. Wanting a secure border with a Wall=NAZI in their minds. Open Border=Open Heart. When a member of MS-13 crosses the border it is an act of love according to Jeb Bush.

Everyone is anti-illegal immigrant with respect to future illegal immigrants, except illegal immigrants perhaps. However not everyone equates letting DACA persons remain in the U.S., the only home they have ever really known, with being pro-illegal immigration. Some are able to see nuance, others can't. That's human nature. It is in our nature, for example, that some will equate pro-choice with being pro-abortion, despite such equating being irrational. Nevertheless it happens that some are incapable of recognizing nuance with respect to complex issues. Mostly, it would seem, these latter individuals are those who have formed hardened positions without ever having examined the complexities of difficult issues; without ever having recognized the nuances attendant different positions. We'll just have to muddle on the best we can with what we have been given. It is a depressing thought, however, to recognize that most of us may doing the best we can. I hope it isn't true; yet i fear it is.

Why post a smiley face in regards to making fun of futurecurrents? Wouldn't FC be an ally of yours in every respect except your disagreements on climate change? You seem to have common ground on social issues. So why do that?
