Note this was a pre-school program in a public elementary school in Wake County. The Wake County school system took immediate action to remove the cards from the school, swiftly issued a public statement confirming the cards are totally inappropriate and not part of the curriculum or lesson plans for teaching colors, and took disciplinary action against the teacher. It's not like the school system supports these flash cards in any manner, nor are they issued from the school. Even the most right-wing politicians in our state thanked the school system for acting promptly.
As a follow-up -- they told the pre-K teacher to resign or be fired.

It doesn't matter if the school system supports it. What matters is the action they take when notified, and it seems the right action was taken, so other progressive teachers are put on notice.

The recommendation, from the school board sex-ed committee, would mix boys and girls in 4th through 8th grade for all discussions of puberty, sexually transmitted diseases, and the human reproductive system. The board will also consider increasing penalties against students for "malicious misgendering" "deadnaming" their peers. "Deadnaming" is a word used to describe the act of referring to someone by a name they used prior to transitioning.
