The Left is Brain-dead

Quote from brotherben:

Anyone who thinks the mainstream media is not biased to the left if correct. They are eyebrow deep in it. Hillary Clinton and Bill are so untrustworthy they are most likely going to be rejected after all. Watch her eyes, especially when she is perturbed. There is so much stuff in their closets Dick Morris will make a billion dollars as he simply opens the closet door and shows America what he has known for many years.

Frankly, i don't see any particular bias in the media one way or the other. Individuals yes, of course they have particular points of view, but on balance they are all over the political spectrum. What i do see is sensationalism driven by the quest for viewers-listeners and consequent advertising dollars, and i see a neglect of really important issues. For example, when Paulson moved to Treasury and shortly thereafter Goldman Sachs changed the weighting of gasoline futures in the GS commodity index to bring gasolines prices down just before the mid-term congressional election I did not see a single story on this in the mainstream press. And i have not seen any press coverage of the fact that the US body count from Iraq includes only those who died in Iraq and omits any flown out who died later, which is a very large number. I haven't seen a single story in the mainstream media about how deficit spending is equivalent to to a tax increase via debt monetization. All i see is Paris Hilton ad nauseum.

Perhaps a few, i am one of them, don't care what is in the closet, so long as it is not a crime. But i do care very much about the candidates decision making ability and the thoughtfulness they will bring to their office and their educational background. And by that i don't mean where they went to school, but rather how good a student were they and what did they learn.

I am tired of millionaire, born again, playboy and movie star presidents, give me an intellectual next time around, please. Someone with the ability to articulate complex issues so they can be understood by the average citizen. No ultra religious maniacs, no ideologues, and no-one beholden to special interests. Give me someone with integrity who makes sense when they speak, and can explain the logic of their decisions, someone who does not lie, someone who is not afraid to say "i made a mistake," and i'll be happy and grateful, even if i don't agree with them.

Well put.

I was going to start a new thread but the title of this one fits the story perfectly. Jaw dropping stupidity!

More examples of moonbats in the media.

Hundreds of people could be killed but we better not offend anyone by publishing pictures of them in case we're wrong. Feelings are more important than casualties.

Segue to Doc Vodka blaming it all on Bush, and the Zzztroll calling those want the pictures published all members of the Klannish.
