Interesting the worst 2 nations , China, Italy, have state run health acre...………………………………………………………………………….

This is a super naive view of it.

A better view is:

1. Both are cultures that emphasize proximity to the other person.
2. Both have major metros where tons of people congregate.
3. Both cultures began social distancing too late.
4. Both have a healthcare system that, despite being funded by the government, is strained

If a well done government healthcare system such as italy's is stressed what does that mean for us? It means CEOs pockets are getting fat on a pandemic and it's only a matter of time before insurance companies remove the stress from the system via denying coverage. Won't that be fun? We are currently lagging Italy by about 16 days. So in two weeks it will get really, really bad. Boomer remover will be in full swing.

This will be a painful reminder to all of us libertarian types that we need to bend on healthcare because the free market has no solution for it. The founding fathers said endowed in each of us is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Healthcare should be implied in the last one.

guys what are we talking about there.... the health system is not that relevant in this case... we are not talking about some top notch difficulty surgury... this is an infection disease that nobody has vaccine so the only treatment is really just quarantine, to different degrees...

and of course culture / the way of life has a lot to do with it.... them Italians keep kissing each other on the cheeks, maybe that will go away after corona.

Assuming your from the US I suspect that you may have much worse to contend with in few weeks time.
It's been spreading all around the US for weeks already but they have not been testing for it. Se
No test = No cases = No idea which areas infected until they come banging on hospital doors at once in which cases the health system cannot cope.
The country in which it starts is likely to be worst hit because of the time taken to figure out what they are dealing with.

The kill rate is so low, we don't really need any tests. With the main risk ;[1] lack of hand washing [2] compromised immune systems [3] old folks.

One medical doctor did note ''the media is fearmongering it'' exactly. BUT what do you expect form a bunch that try to make a mountain out of a mole hill on gun deaths?? you are right I live in US...………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..Thanks

Mortality rate isn't "so low", it's 100x that of H1N1 (1.5%-6% (w/optimistic math) vs 0.02%), and a certain demographic was making mountains out of molehills about that pandemic. If we hit the rate of infection we did w/H1N1 of 60 million (which had a much better government response) with COVID's 15-20% hospitalization rate, then forget about it.

The real death rate can only be found out years later. Current death rate is high because testing is limited to those suspected of having it i.e. turned up sick at hospital. Random population testing is needed to find those affected who didn't go to hostpital. That will not be done until testing system is unconstrained. This maths means the death rate can only come down.
