The insanity continues

I have no problem with enforcing the law for those newly arrived or attempting to come here illegally, or anyone with a criminal record. I have no problem with there being a consequence for being here illegally. However after 20 years it is a bit late for consequences, like give up all your friends, and go to what is now, to them who grew up here, a foreign country, and start over. There is such a thing, I hope, as human decency.
If the law is not enforceable, or is not going to be enforced, then let's change it. What is the point of a law that is not enforced or enforced only haphazardly?
But please let's not round up those who spent their entire lives here, went to school, somehow managed to get a social security number and a legitimate job, pay taxes, and did not get arrested, and say to them "we appreciate your pathetically low wage work for our agricultural industry, the fact that you were a good student and studied hard, and especially your contributions to social security, medicare, and our military industrial complex. But now that you are fully "Amuricanized," please go back where you came from. Oh, and by the way, leave your social security and medicare contributions on your way out the door.
Of course we all know that if the government went after the employers, as in virtually all countries that do enforce their immigration laws, we wouldn't have a problem with illegal immigration. Then there would be no jobs for illegals, but you'd have to pay 20 cents more for your lettuce.
We let their parents in as foreigners without our permission and no work visas. And then on top of that we let the undocumented offspring of these illegals sign our declaration of independence and our constitution. We should have arrested them and sent them all back to England where they or their illegal ancestors came from without our permission.
