Well there might be something to it, apart from blue suede shoes.

Looking at it from a fractal perspective, 2 data points is useless. That gives you a straight line, under any circumstances.
3 points is the minimum to construct a triangle, the most basic geometric shape, the most basic construct of comparison.

They dont use two data points for triangulation in navigation, for example.

20 can help with a trend also.

Most of smaller fibo number come up/down more than random.
