Regardless if there's a law or not, you still get into trouble if you don't pay your taxes or get caught lying about how much you owe the government. Examples @ http://www.dailyfinance.com/on/celebrity-tax-trouble-IRS-liens/ (IRS should have thrown Lindsay Lohan in jail like they did several other stars...e.g...Wesley Snipes)

True, but I was only talking about the Federal Income Tax, I didn't say anything about not paying our taxes, those are two entirely different subjects.

It's the whole code that is the law that requires you to pay taxes.

Section 1 imposes the tax on your "taxable income". Section 63 of the Code defines "taxable income"

Sources of taxable income are identified in the Code under Section 61, Gross Income Defined.
