are you comparing the catholic religion with islam?if you are i will concede the catholic religion is not quite as bad as islam. religious ignorance comes in many stripes.

Possibly a clearer picture would emerge by comparing infant mortality rates and average birthweights between Catholic societies and Muslim societies of similar socioeconomic levels. I'd be curious to see how the former European colonies compare to the never colonized, again, controlling for socioeconomic status.
