the IB datafeed

Hi,

I'm using a 3rd party software to send in orders to the IB via the API. I have about 100 stocks that I'm trying to trade, however I'm not able to send in orders for all the stocks. The problem is that I'm not getting the data for everyone of these stocks. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem similar to this and if so would a datafeed like eSignal be worth it, or should the IB feed do the trick?

Thanks

Hi Bluegar3,

There are some symbol limit restrictions unless you choose to pony up so your limit can be extended. I can't remember what the limits are - sorry. It's possible that you have exceeded the limit and that is why some don't update.

My best regards,
MK

4. All customers receive 100 concurrent lines of real-time market data (which can be displayed in TWS or via the API). After the first month of trading, high-volume traders may receive additional lines of market data, calculated as follows:

Maximum ((Monthly Commissions/8), 100)

For example, if you generate USD 16.00 in monthly commissions, you will receive 100 lines of market data. If you generate USD 400.00 in commissions, you will receive 100 lines of market data. But if you generate USD 840.00 in commissions, you will receive 105 lines of market data.
