Imo, the fact they feel the need for a "public option" gives the lie to the whole business. It's not true reform and they know it. There is no other reason for a govt run option.
The need is to reform the Health Care Insurers not the care givers ..so much. Take the free money out of the hands of middle men Insurers, who somehow have managed to insert themselves between care givers and patients and are profiting by it in the billions.
The bank alternative is a falsified fallacy. You'd have to get into what is meant by "run". To the extent banks are subject to regulations by government you could say they're run by government, and to an extent should be. The public option isn't suggesting government profit from the public option just to
use it as way to lower premiums for working people ...remove the middle man.
If Health Care Insurers ran Medicaid do you think it would cost taxpayers less if you had to add their profit margins and the salaries in?
