I was talking to some gym rats about what earbuds to use and figured a lot of ETers work from a home office and would be interested in discussing decent audio/"audiophile" hookups. I listen to virtually all genres except for rap, country and jazz.

I'll update the thread with my home and mobile gear. I have a treated room for A/V at home.
 
If I was to do the whole listening room experience again I'd still do the 8-gauge wire and tall ceilings but start from scratch with any advancements in preamps\amps etc., a good sub with solid production down to 20Hz

but might not bother anymore with it

Son bought me the beats earbuds, and have the apple buds. I'm interested in these:

Will be used in the gym also. Son has the Bose headphones, and they impress me, so wanted to look at the Bose buds. Opinions?

I've looked at other stuff, but like these, and they don't destroy the wallet. When you say decent sound, please elaborate. I'd hate to drop $300 on something I may not like.

They're good. Nowhere near the SQ of the Sennheiser. The Senn fit very well with Comply Tx-500 tips. You need to invest in some Tx-500 to get a proper fit. The stock tips that come in the Sennheiser pkg are crap. Not bad quality, but the fit is poor.

The Sennheiser IE80 are 95% of the SQ of the Shure, but at less than 1/3 the price. I would go with the Senn, hands-down.
 
For travel, I use Shure SE535 earbuds.

For the house, I run primarily Denon electronics, Niles amps, and Klipsch Speakers.

For the car, I run JL Audio for pretty much everything except the head unit.

In my home gym, it's all about space efficiency, so in one corner of the room I have a single JBL EON 515XT, and it's perfect. No need for dragging around a phone and earbuds while I work out. ;)
