The Great Negotiator

The only person who made the Russia thing obnoxious is the guy who fired the boy scout investigating it

Oh you mean the swamp creature who threw the election, then threw out a dragnet to try and catch anyone in Trump's campaign who may have thrown the election? Who was not investigating Trump? But who would NOT admit it publically? That obnoxious boy scout?

That's not how the FBI works, they don't start an investigation and go out in public declaring that some are not under investigation if they could be part of it at a later stage.

The idea that Trump and /or everyone on his team, was under investigation was out there in public, and in no small part due to FBI behavior, leaks, and silence. If there was an investigation the FBI would be at the center of it. A swamp creature who was not part of Trump's staff could let that dark cloud hang in the air, and did, especially if it represented job security.

Comey is aware of a call for public statements when an issue is in the public and ripe for spin. This is beyond the call of the policy you mentioned. Comey answered that call twice, most notably two days before the election, prematurely claiming Clinton was cleared in regards the Wiener laptop. He would not do it on behalf of the President for his own personal advantage, hiding behind poorly articulated, and poorly executed policies.

All he had to say was while he is not, and never has been under ivestigation, the FBI reserves the right to investigate in the future. Easily said and done. But no.

The difference is, are you going to perpetuate myth when spin is already thick in the air by remaining silent, or are you going to set the record straight going public?

Comey failed to do right, as he was too wrapped up in negotiating the swamp for his own benefit.

No, you're talking about when there are no rumors out there in public, and when no leaks are out there in public, and when the target is not so high profile.

There's reason behind policy. Suspects should not be tipped off prior to warrants being issued and executed.

That's not this situation. The public and the target have been tipped off, either by rumor, lie, or leak. It is up to the FBI head at that point to make a public statement.

There is already precedence for this so you are engaging in more demagoguery.

For years Trump went around insinuating WITHOUT evidence that Obama wasn't born in the US, maybe all these 'rumors' are karma for all that bitching eh?

Your expectation that criminals should be treated differently because they're high profile is not how this country works. A suspect is a suspect and is not less willing to destroy evidence, bribe/intimidate witnesses or impede an investigation if he's tipped off by disclosed details.
