The great government fire sale is on

"This is tantamount to selling the family china only to have to rent it back in order to eat dinner," says economist Yves Smith, author of the top-rated business blog Naked Capitalism.

Very poor move on their part. Go straight to Boardwalk. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

But to critics, these sales are as misguided as pulling money out of your house to pay your bills. They point out that the government is letting go of a long-term, valuable asset in exchange for a one-time payment. When the asset is a building, a municipality then has to spend more money on leasing it back or renting another facility.

idiocracy..sell the building, where you work, to pay someone's retirement benefits..looks like they would do anything, even sell the power plants, but not the right thing-reduce the salaries, benefits and gvt workforce. been public servant suppose to be a privilege, where for smaller than private sector salary(way smaller),early retirement and better benefits you accept that job. from my perspective things are so fucked up..i can't even understand how is this possible. how is this possible that public servants having unions? to protect them from what exactly?
from people, who are paying their salary?
