This is an interesting course adjustment. I think the heat has to be going somewhere, so if not the atmosphere, then the oceans? I'd like to see the measurement for total "heat content", atmosphere and ocean, and chart it by year. Of course, some energy would be accounted for in the transition of ice to water, and water to vapor.

Edit: or, as FC point out earlier, maybe there is some "global dimming"...

the closest thing you have co2 does any forcing is the chakun study / speculation I gave you... which of course shows temperatures leads co2 accumulation and then the author tries to show co2 accumulation leading warming in other parts of the globe.

Not really, the point... but an interesting speculation.

yea it could be that other pollutants are balancing out co2 or it could be that the sun and the tides are responsible for a the very larger majority of changes in global temps and co2 is just a by product of warming or cooling.

Well, I have said before, based on the historical data we do have, so long as atmospheric CO2 does not rise above 300 ppmv there is no reason to think the current warming is anything new.

All we have to do is to look back in time to that period when 8 billion tons of CO2 were being added into the atmosphere every year.

Or we could look at more current data.
