The Governments Great Track Record of Providing Healthcare

No worries, the klannish don't have a heart, and their tiny little brains are not worth harvesting...

Their livers are useless from the boozing, and their kidneys are trashed from the food they eat...

Their eyes have a big log in them, their spleen is full of bile, their vocal cords are capable of nothing but lies...

Quote from TGregg:

We can also expect a new wonderful redistribution program from the left: Forced Organ Transplants.

From each according to his ability to each according to their need.

If somebody needs a kidney, WTF should any "rich" @#!& be allowed to keep two? If you are such a winner in life's lottery as to have both your lungs, shouldn't the playing field be leveled - shouldn't the poor guy with failed lungs get one? Who are you to say no?

Why should blind guys not have any eyesight while people walk around with not one but two good eyes? That's obviously unfair and a wrong that needs correction by the government.

I'm serious. This is a very fair application of the things the left believe. It's even more honest than income redistribution. When it comes to money, you frequently have people who are contributing more making more money than those who lay about doing nothing. And the left wants to take money from the working man and give it to the slothful.

But take the case of some guy who loses his eyesight through no fault of his own. Without question it is not "fair" that he has no vision while other people have two good eyes - and they have them through no special effort on their part. If you buy into the liberal viewpoint, forced organ transplants have a more compelling case *by far* than mere income redistribution.

You might 'serious' but you are certainly 'seriously delusional'. Where do you even come up with bullshit like this !?!?! I've kept up with the issue fairly closely and have NEVER heard anything like mentioned. It is ALL made up, in your mind.

Why don't you try to deal with the FACTS and make a reasonable argument if you can.

Quote from Vinny1:

I hope we can all have free government healthcare paid for by higher taxes on the rich and corporations. Corporations may even benefit if the extra taxes that they pay is less than the healthcare premiums that they pay for their employees.

I dislike insurance companies. I used to have health insurance through my wife's plan. She was a teacher. She quit her job in May to stay home with the baby. My daughter and wife were able to obtain insurance for $140 per month for both of them here in Georgia. It has a $7,500 deductible per person per year. I was unable to get private insurance, since I had an abnormal EKG back in April when I had my annual physical. I never had issues with my heart, rarely get sick, never had surgery, and never had emergency care, yet still denied for some minute problem. I'm retaking the EKG test with a different doctor, and if it's ok, will appeal. I'm hoping that we will have government healthcare which will cover pre-existing conditions for everyone. Everyone will benefit, except for the employees of health insurance companies.

I had my visit two days ago with a Cardiologist. My EKG is normal. Also did an echo and a treadmill stress test. Everything is normal, as I thought. The abnormal EKG was caused because I am 5'9 and 140 pounds, so since I am thin, the heart is close to my outer chest skin, which caused the higher than normal voltage. I sent all of the records to the insurance company to appeal, so I'll see what they say. I think that I should be approved though.

The whole insurance system is screwed up. If you are in a company group plan, you will get approved, since it is guaranteed issue for group plans, but if you are applying for individual coverage, then they can deny you because of pre-existing conditions. I know that in NJ and NY, it is guaranteed issue coverage for individuals, but the insurance companies that sell in those states can deny covering pre-existing conditions for 12 months, so I read in this...

Exactly! We already have government healthcare in this country called Medicare. My dad and mother in law have Medicare and they have no problems with it. We just need to extend Medicare or a Medicare type plan to everyone in this country free of monthly premiums and free of denial for pre-existing conditions, paid for by higher taxes on the rich and corporations.

You are totally correct UNTIL you get to the part of 'paid for by higher taxes on the rich and corporations'. ALL of us are going to have to pay higher taxes for these benefits.

Corporations will save money by not being responsible for health care benefits to employees and those savings will be passed onto workers in the form of pay increases. With EVERYBODY paying into the system we will reach economies of scale that no private-based system could ever reach.

This is a complete no-brainer but until we get rid of every conservative Republican (pretty much all of them) and all of the 'Blue Dog' Democrats (wolves in Democrat clothing) it will never happen.

Bunch of right wingers defending their right to get screwed by insurance companies. Only in America.

What a simple (and boring) world to live in. There's the RIGHT side of the field, and there's the LEFT side of the field; and no shades of gray in between. zzz......

Quote from RangeBar:

Admittedly, I don't personally know ALL of the veterans in America, (with all the wars we've been in who would), but I can say that I know of NO (NONE, ZERO) veterans who can use the GOVERNMENT-RUN VA medical system but instead choose to use a PRIVATE insurance company. They all go to the VA hospital. (Ironically, most all of these veterans CURSE the FEDERAL gov't in the usual ignorant tea-party mentality but still use the resource).

In fact, the biggest hurdle to UNIVERSAL health care in America are the people that currently enjoy this priviledge: Military Veterans and Senior Citizens.

And, in simple selfish terms, why should they NOT oppose change !?!? They have theirs; you & I are paying for so . . . what they worry ?

Added to this are the people (employees & stockholders), who benefit DIRECTLY from the current scrambled & inefficient system. And people still dare to say that 'OBAMA is doing NOTHING' !!!!

Sad fact is: 70% of the people opposing health care reform as presented by Obama & the normal leaders of the Democrat Party would benefit greatly from the reforms being proposed.

Sure the VA is a great deal if:

1) Your problem is deemed service connected. If not, guess what you get NADA thing. btw I bet you can't guess who makes that decision.

2) You live close enough to a VA hospital.
Is within 150 miles convenient for you.

3) You think the dept of transportation (you know the guys asleep next to the screwed up road you're driving on) is a bastion of work ethic and efficiency.

4) You are dead ass broke because the expense of the liberal do gooder safety net left you impoverished and dependent.
