The GOP is just plain dumb

Quote from cgroupman:

People willing to flame, rant and rave about their opinions, but won't even make a friendly bet to either back up their opinions or show that they might be in touch with reality.

Most of us here only wager (read, "speculate") on outcomes where we know the odds of winning, present consistent opportunity and have a very high, almost certain expectation of receiving payment should we win.

Making cash wagers on political outcomes with other individuals is left to those who have money to throw away or are foolish enough to think they can predict such outcomes and then expect payment.

Unlikely. He ran a Methadone Clinic. That rules out drug abuse completely.

Look the GOP *is* dumb. They let the MSM manipulate them into self-immolation at every debate. They've renounced Ronald Reagan and conservatism. They've alienated blacks, women, gays and probably all of the independents.

Now *I'm* sounding embittered. Crap.
That's fine. All those people can move to the east side of the Mississippi. We'll take the west side. Everybody's happy.

THAT IS THE POINT!!!

If the GOP had remembered, and stuck to Reagan's Big Tent, this election is over, but in the other direction. Everyone is just waiting for who the GOP puts up so they can vote out Obama.

The Hard Left is at LEAST as pissed at Obama as the hard right. They feel he went center when he ran as a leftist.

Obama should be low hanging fruit. But they chose the Southern Strategy, which will work no where but the South.

That is exactly my point. And now, because they have rejected Mittens, and it is very clear that they have, and on what ground that they did. Obama is in for another term.

The GOP did this to THEMSELVES.

I don't make a habit of agreeing with tinyarrow but I'm with his take on this that Lucrum quoted.

OK, not even talking real money here. So, maybe, just maybe, the bias ranting is just that, not what they really think. Both sides, not picking sides here.

I would like to see some of that 'certain expectation of receiving payment' - nice to think you have that too, even though you know it's very doubtful. I'm not saying you're not a successful trader, many of us are, just a bit optimistic maybe.

edit: Heck, just call them predictions instead of bets. The point is, do you guys really believe the stuff you say about your candidates, the President's chances, etc. Not looking that way.

And, even those of us who aren't 'hard left' or right are a little upset with some of what Obama has done, or not done actually. That's one of my points. But, the GOP is handing him the election at this point.

My bet is still Romney and then Obama. Unless maybe, the 'wild and crazy' Christie goes in as VP, then, hmm?

I have two outstanding bets on here with two posters and I intend to collect. What more do you want from me? LOL.

Maybe I need someone of your obvious intellect and ET clout to try to get some action here, help a brother out.

I'm betting on Obama being defeated. If you bet, I need your full name and contact info because I will collect.

Classic RCG jekyll and hyde/bipolar behaviour.

Start a thread solely to piss people off, disparaging all conservatives as Ignorant rednecks/bigots, then 2 pages later pretend to take the high road.

Its actually comical watching the way he operates because it has bceome so predictable.

What I won't do is get into a flame war with you. So you have the last word.
