Throughout history up until Industrial Revolution crop yields were really low which meant harsher living condition when planet cooled. Life got little easier when planet warmed up.

Yes, that's a good point. The U.S. is of course the largest consumer of oil, but probably one of the more efficient as well. The economies of third world countires will not grind to a standstill if they're forced to revolutionize the way they use carbon fuels, they will be forced to innovate and will come out of it better and stronger. The carrot and stick should emphasize the stick, in their case.

You're right about the U.S., but CO2 emission reductions are still a very good thing to pursue. The right, who are the ones that are against reductions, typically think like this:

As you can see, the fact that it's not only the reduction in emissions that is the issue but the importance of the structural changes that would be necessary to accomplish it goes right over the heads of most of the hard right GW deniers. Those changes would have multiple long-term benefits for the West.

Recycling is an urban, advanced-economy pursuit.
You can get the bulk of your aluminum by paying for it from afar, or you can recycle it and have the jobs that produce it close to home.
This is true for all of the world, even those countries classified as exporters of bauxite.
It's always better - always, as in 100% of the time - to have a value-added industry rather than an exporter of raw materials.
We do no one any good by not solving the simple problem of recyling our waste products so they don't choke us.
Autos were a solution to the problem of getting rid of horse shit and urine.
Advanced cars that use whichever of the technologies that are now coming forward - electric, hydrogen cell, etc. - are our present-day solution to the CO2 problem we now have.
Our ancestors solved the horseshit problem.
We should solve our CO2 problem.
Both involve dealing with excess waste from processes that are, given the scale of present-day civilization, no longer acceptable costs.
It's not that hard to understand.

I couldn't seem to find any countries spewing out 10-100X CO2 of US on these lists. If you want to sound credible, you might want to lighten up on the exaggerating a bit.

This shows that like clockwork the global temp seems to quickly rocket up and then fall quickly and remain cool till the next cycle. If this were a stock chart would you be buying or selling temp?


You can clearly see from this graph that CO2 lags temp.
