There are very clear differences. The ancient Egyptians had their own culture which produced unique art and music , yet it is all but forgotten.

While the mathematical, scientific and technological advances received by the ancient Egyptians continue on to be developed ever more to this very day.


Whether a piece of music is brilliant or not is open to interpretation, while technology is an ACTUAL "PRACTICAL application of knowledge especially in a particular area".
 
Well It would be an embarrassment for US companies not to stand out in those categories. Considering the fact that they are categories for US PATENTS.

The US only makes up 22.1% of worldwide patents filings and 21.3% of patent grants.

You still haven't explained how there's no innovation in 10,000+ patents.

You still haven't explained why the 1812 Overture is a brilliant piece of music as opposed to imitation given that it incorporates so much that Tchaikovsky didn't write. And it is undeniably brilliant...

On the categories being for "US PATENTS," of course they are... name another country's patents that matter more.

And speaking of advances... the United Stated put a man on the moon 40 years today... something still not accomplished by any other nation.

Seek professional help now. You'll be much more successful when you can face reality and not have to hide in your delusions.

Now you are trying to change the subject, music has nothing to do with technology. Whether a piece of music is "brilliant" or not is up to OPINION. You don't hear about that much ancient Egyptian music, do you?



Now you are changing the subject to talk about something that the US has accomplished 40 years ago, which has nothing to do with the bankrupt future. Look it Iraq today and look it where it once was.

By the way the "Patent Filings by Country of Origin"
has Japan in first place with the US at a 22% share.

Don't pretend that my analogy using the 1812 Overture doesn't apply... a work that incorporates other works can be a lot more than mere "imitation" which you claim Windows is. In fact, some technologies MUST incorporate past innovations but a musical piece does NOT have to incorporate elements of other works. So the analogy is an excellent one which more than destroys your stupid claim. And the 1812 Overture is undeniably brilliant. Don't give me that "opinion" crap. Is it also an opinion that the theory of relativity is brilliant? LOL

My point on the moonwalk is that the U.S. did 40 years ago what no other nation has done, even today. And about Iraq... look at who's changing the subject. And only an idiot would claim Iraq was better off under Saddam and his sons.

You can keep posting your garbage but that doesn't negate the U.S. dominance shown by the IEEE patent scorecards.

10,000 patents don't imply 10,000 innovations. Again you still cannot show me what new products Microsoft has created that wasn't implemented in other forms by other companies.

Now you are talking about music which has nothing to do with technology. What happened to ancient Egyptian music? It is YOUR OPINION that a piece of music is brilliant, other people in other cultures may not see it that way.

Since you brought up music why stop there? Let's talk about movies, sports and anything else that has nothing to do with technology.

As for the patents, ABOUT HALF of all of those US patent applications were made by foreigners and foreign corporations. You still only refer to US patents which is barely more than one-fifth of all patents.

The IEEE refers to US patents specifically not International patents, therefore your analysis is completely flawed. You must be brain-dead, the IEEE patent index itself only refers to US PATENTS.

That is talking about one country not the ENTIRE WORLD, yet outside the US foreign companies tend to almost completely dominate in their own countries, while in the US ALMOST HALF of all patent applications are made by foreigners and foreign corporations.



Civilizations come and go, look it Iraq where it was in ancient history and look at it today. Iraq is in complete disarray with no stability. Saddam was able to cap the instability in the region, the new government is practically a ticking time bomb. The modern day Iraq was carved out of the area known as Mesopotamia in 1920 by the British, of course there will be instability, exacerbated by regime, government changes and War.

This topic is supposed to be about the future of the US, yet all you do is talk about the advances in technology in the US that were made in the 60s/70s.

Your statement about music and technology is irrelevant. Either you're incapable of understanding my analogy or you're obfuscating because you need to pretend it didn't destroy your lame argument about imitation.

The 1812 Overture is brilliant and what's subjective is whether or not one likes it. It does have widespread appeal, but universal appeal certainly isn't a criterion for brilliance. So if you or some primitive who's still hunting with stone arrows doesn't think it's brilliant that doesn't make it any less so. If some culture somewhere doesn't like Shakespeare that doesn't make his works any less brilliant either.

On the IEEE categories being for "US PATENTS," of course they are... name another country's patents that matter more. The IEEE has members in 150 countries yet they did their scorecard for U.S. patents... of course you can't grasp why.

Saddam didn't "cap the instability in the region." He started an 8 year war with Iran and invaded Kuwait a few years after that was done. We kicked him out and kept him in check. And then there's what he did to his own people... so again, you have no idea what you're talking about.

You brought up music which has nothing to do with technology. So you changed the subject.


The IEEE mentions that almost 50% of US Patent applications were made by Foreigners and foreign corproations. So that includes foreigners working for US corproations.

The IEEE specific survey mentions specifcally US Patents only, that has nothing to do with the rest of the world. If someone creates a survey of a specific region it doesn't necessarily apply to other regions of the world, unless it is your fantasy world.

Saddam did relatively keep the Iraqi population in check compared to where Iraq is now. That doesn't have to do with external conflicts. America has been in the most military conflicts Post-WW2 yet internally it has had relatively very limited social unrest. Post-invasion Iraq is a disaster with much more casualties and unrest overall.
 
Also since this topic has to do with the future of the US not the past:


Ancient Mesopatamia was once great too, look at them now.


When the US dollar becomes worthless in a decade or two the financing for r&d in the US will disappear along with it.

All it would take would be for one major seller of US debt to set off the domino effect, whether they sell willingly or by necessity is another story.
