'Establishing context' and 'finding the range' is quite different from actual trading it.

Everyone can draw a trend line on a chart and observe a range after it has formed. I don't understand why he bothers as there is zero value in this. I'm not deliberately trying to be an asshole and would have said it in a nicer way if possible. It's simply the truth.
As price broke out yesterday evening, the hourly charts posted yesterday morning, above, will suffice. As these charts illustrate the range, the 15m chart below illustrates the conditions leading up to the open, or at least up to an hour before the open:
