Where the swamp lawyers went wrong was in flim-flamming the court and having that exposed. The court has not been particularly receptive to Flynn's argument that the doj withheld exculpatory information because that had not been demonstrated. Of course it had not been demonstrated because they withheld and hid the exculpatory information so he could not demonstrate it. The court issued separate orders to the government to re-check all their records, documents etc and to assure the court that all relevant material had been turned over and the government allegedly did that and gave that assurance to the court.
But then in comes a pile of exculpatory material that had been withheld (and more to come in the next few days). So now the judge is thinking, "the fuckers even violated my order to cough up all relevant material." So the government conned the court just as Flynn said they did to him. So the judge might not "set him free" but might very well allow him to withdraw his plea and go to trial, in which case the government will have to decide whether they want to try the full case (they don't) or ask for a dismissal.
So how did the court suddenly get all that material that had been withheld for years? Pretty simple. Attorney General Barr gave the court all of it after the U.S. Attorney for Missouri uncovered it at Bill's direction. Thank you for your service to the country Attorney General Barr. Barr gave them more than has been released. The rest of it is being reviewed to see what needs to be redacted for security/investigation purposes but there is more material coming. And there will be even more coming when Durham adds his findings to it.
A question to be dealt with a the right time is: Why did Christopher Wray not conduct a process that resulted in the material being released when he was under orders from Barr and court to do so, such that Barr had to appoint a special inside investigator/reviewer (the Missouri guy) to re-do his work.

Actually that will be Trump when he leaves office.State and federal prosecutors have a bunch of charges waiting for him and Barr will no longer be able to help him.
It'll likely come sooner as he needs the red meat to appease the mob now that the economy's cratering, pandemic's on the loose, and everyone's w/o a job. Cue the hateful immigrant rhetoric too.
They were going to put his son in jail if he didn't agree to the agreement. That's dirty KGB shit only democrat - liberal - socialist - communist - assholes do in every other country. Not here.
Law enforcement threatening love ones for cooperation and guilty pleas is quite common in this country
