Here’s the problem, which Republicans can get the votes to be speaker from strictly the Republican caucus? The last few Republican Speakers haven’t fared well at all.
I'm not convinced any can. I have trouble seeing 15/20 Anti-McCarthy Republicans willing to go to Scalise or Stefanik.
What is the point of nominating the same 3 over and over again? Even though I think it's a shit job I'll throw my hat in the ring for the benefit of the country.
