There are always connections between film and television. In fact that clip I posted earlier on the 2nd page with Jack Lemon and Marilyn Monroe on the train contains an easter egg….. At the start of the clip watch closely when the two girls walk across the isle, right after Lemon keeps repeating “I’m a girl”, I’m a girl”, I’m a girl”. Look at he first girl. That’s Grace Lee Whitney, who did several TV appearances in various shows, but best known for her role as Yeoman Janis Rand…… Capt Kirk's assistant in the original Star Trek series
She was also in the Star Trek movies.
 
Sorry if I misinterpreted the motive behind the remark, I thought it was a limp wristed way of telling me, if I wanted to respond about tv shows there was a place I could go. Guess it wasn't -- my bad.

oops i goofed... hee hee :D

Although she did work with DeMille, "Birth of a Nation" was actually directed by D.W. Griffith. (i have alot of films in my head and sometimes get mixed up)

I have a problem with any film that De Niro is in (mostly the gangster ones)...I can't help but watch. Even if I've seen them movie 10 times.

When any of the Godfathers come on I watch. And Casino, Goodfellas, Ronan, ...

Just can't help myself. :p

i have the same problem.....Godfather 2 is my favorite movie with Godfather 1 being number 2

Trendo, I was kidding. It was a joke about Lucas not living up to his potential, in my opinion. I will reiterate: it's an opinion.

I saw that Goodfellas was brought up. One of the most exciting scenes . . . at the end, as Henry Hill's about to get caught, when he's way high, driving around to Nilsson's "Jump Into the Fire." Such a wonderful use of music in film.

I thought you might have been kidding, but hey, it wouldn't be the first time I took a statement too literally. :cool:

As for Goodfellas, great performances by all. Joe Pesci was scary good. Watch him in My Cousin Vinny, he's hilarious. Shows what a versatile actor he is. Pesci trivia: There was a time in his life that he made a living by playing jazz guitar.

When the film came out, I was 18 years old. Cloris Leachman looked like a MILF to me, so I know what you mean. She seemed much more interesting than the self-centered ice princess played by Shepard. Cloris turned in a superb job conveying the loneliness and desperation of her character.
 
Cloris Leachman did win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for the film. So many people forget this - they only remember her as Phyllis.
