Based on research of twitter debates, harsh critiques generally lower the poster's post quality everywhere for roughly 24 hours, and strengthen their belief in the claims. Sadly, no other method--nice, sympathetic, or brief--of countering fake news and lies has been found reliably effective. Pain avoidance, cocooning in familiar beliefs, is the go-to response today.
If there weren't blatant examples of how people were silenced and banned for provided information that ends up being true in the end, then there'd be less of an appetite for misinformation of any kind. But there is, unfortunately.
And GWB's modus operandi of discrediting people without actually contradicting them doesn't exactly do anything to dispel supposed "misinformation".
After all, if one so learned and well-read as GWB can't actually provide issues on any of the data, then who can save us?
