If there weren't blatant examples of how people were silenced and banned for provided information that ends up being true in the end, then there'd be less of an appetite for misinformation of any kind. But there is, unfortunately.

And GWB's modus operandi of discrediting people without actually contradicting them doesn't exactly do anything to dispel supposed "misinformation".

After all, if one so learned and well-read as GWB can't actually provide issues on any of the data, then who can save us?

Obviously this Tweeter is an idiot.... as explained many times before the CFR for COVID is around 2%. The estimated IFR for COVID is 0.55%. The CFR for the Flu by surveillance is 0.1%. The estimated IFR for the Flu is 0.025%.

The Tweeter accuses Fauci of confusing CFR of COVID and IFR of the flu. In actuality it is the idiot Tweeter not knowing the values of CFR and IFR for both and making false claims.

But of course this is sourced from Tsing Tao's favorite "Rational Ground" blog which has been a continual source of COVID misinformation.... while at the same time Tsing Tao tries to claim he does not promote misinformation from Jennifer Cabrera and Len Cabrera -- who have been outlined previously as pushing all sorts of wild HCQ, 5G and other nonsense.

So Fauci states the obvious -- which he has stated all along. Non-N95 masks only stop an infected person from transmitting the virus & infecting other people. It does little to stop someone from getting infected from the virus.

Masks should not be needed when the local prevalence of COVID is low ("low risk location"). They are needed when you go to a location where the local prevalence of COVID is high.

Fauci is providing straight-forward consistent medical advice.

If non-N95 masks are not effective, why did we have mask mandates everywhere? Schools? Why weren't these regulations about making sure we had N95 masks?

Why did Fauci not only support - but lobby for this?

Non-N95 masks are VERY EFFECTIVE at stopping the transmission of the virus from an infected person (at over 85% in most studies). If EVERYONE masks up then society is protected better in communities where COVID prevalence is not low. The masks reduce infections, hospitalization, and deaths -- as shown in many studies.

As noted many times before N95 masks require proper training and usage to be effective. Most non-medical people who wear them don't properly use them.
