I tried to "quit" the chat room, but apparently it won't let me.... or, need I do something other than type "/quit"?
Its been dead so far and may take away from the mainboard. Just like no one uses chatlines any longer, the time may be up for chat rooms.
I think its because it doesn't have vision. One big room is just a bunch of people talking about what they wanna talk about. You really need specific rooms. What everyone wants is people making live calls and then to either cheer them on or scold them. There is chatting and there is trading, but both of these should be separate in my opinion. You simply need more rooms. If there was a room that was ES, CL and NQ calls with discussion about only these 3, I think it would do well.
Been up for one day and it's dead. Man you don't give things time. Honestly this morning I was very busy, so couldn't take part. Like most traders when they are busy they probably won't be in there. It might be more like a place to shoot the shit when things quiet down. Last night had a few on and had a good time shooting the shit. I'm there now if you want to discuss top burger joints in s fla.
@Baron , please add rooms similar to forum structure.
1) TA trading
2) Fundamental trading
3) Automated strategy discussion, programming algos or TA unrelated to current daytrades
4) Lounge, for extended discussions (about trading!). Already some great conversations. Will only get better when we have a room for it.
Icon, easily accessible, single clic (unhide ignored users) n reload page (without trimming history).
Huge problem having ignore enabled. Don't anticipate being able to disable ignore until u implement advanced moderation, where if a private rooms creator allows someone in, then his ignore feature is active rather than my ignore filter.
iow, trying to chat, while ignoring someone in the rm isn't possible. I have to disable ignore but that means users must b filtered out before entering the rm otherwise A says yes to B and it's impossible to follow. So forget the icon mentioned above, enable rm creator's filter to apply to rm, rather than individual members in rm having separate filters. In theory u can have both options but complexity says pic single best solution.

I warned you that would be an issue with the ignore feature. Honestly how much discipline does it really take to just personally ignore someone on your own. Does it really get you that upset? Let me ask you, if you went to a bar and a guy sat next to you chatting someone up and you hated what he was saying, do you just leave or do your own thing. I honestly think one of the downsides to ET and forums in general is that people lose their social skills. I'm not even sure how some of you function when you walk outside your front door and have to confront people in real life.
Mav, no emotion here, not upset. I'm viewing ET chat as building a tradin tool. Too much info. Need filters.

No it's fulltime. Likely only taken down to optimize the code to avoid stressing the servers. It's a huge success, more users than anticipated.
