The Elite Trader of Yore

Quote from Mr Subliminal:

Hit Vegas on Wednesday - still no PC or internet though. Am typing this lying horizontal in a strong wireless field with a CAT5 wound around one of my tooth fillings.

You are one guy I've missed!

Thanks to all here that have provided insight! iceman, marketsurfer, nitro...you guys have been absolutely critical in my growth as a trader. Many others have been invaluable too... Optional777, DayTraderNYC, sportsguy, sunny39...thanks so much.

This is a great community...yes, things have changed, but it's fine, things wax and wane.

If Baron ever tried to convert this to a pay site (God forbid), MrSubliminal would be, to me at least, the strongest selling point. Worth the price of admission (as long as it's REALLY low:):))

Sub, glad you made the trip in one piece. Peace! (speaking of "piece", how's Eva?)

Good points. Being one of those 2,000+ guys, I have to admit to a lot of boredom. And insomnia. And trading less and less as I wait for better market conditions. (Yet somehow, even I seldom find time to post during market hours....certainly other than occasionally during the lunchtime doldrums).

And yeah, the ability to rename oneself is getting awfully tempting. I am getting very self conscious seeing myself on "THE LIST" at logon.

I wonder if I switched to RS7.1, if you guys would catch on? RS8?

Where is Gordon Gekko??

Peace,
:)Rs7

'bout time for a software upgrade to version rs7.7

For those 2,000+ commentators, how in the world do you make a living trading daily and participating so heavily? Perhaps that too contributes to the stale opinions that are expressed and alienated so many....

Take Nitro, he only averages 5 posts a day. rs7 averages 7 a day, not a whole lot. I average .4 posts a day and disappear for days at a time.

Quote from vinigar:

What in the world have you been doing with yourself?
Staying out of trouble? Having fun? Fill us in on your escapades...they would be fun to hear about again.

Trading this crappy market, and yes, staying out of trouble mostly. :D I'm thinking about doing something else for a couple years and only trading the first hour or two...it's getting pretty boring here most of the day...specialists are out of control.

GG has been a ET traitor and moved to Wealth-Lab... I see him posting quite a few these days...

ET has changed? Yes, I think so...

There's always been ET newbies and there were always regulars. I think the tone of ET is reflected with how the market is.

I see that with my fellow Chicagoan friends... They don't seem to be going out for a party as much these days. I'm mostly stuck with my GF on weekends with an occassional night out with fellow traders who had a good week but a joke about having the guy paying the bill seems to be forbidden these days.

Anyways, I enjoy ET while I'm trading well. I tend to stay out when I'm not...

I wonder how the old regulars are trading right now...

ET continues to be the link between the virtual trading room and the virtual traders who are remote, or even sitting at a desk in a crowded trading room.

Seems when we vent here, we save face from having to vent publically around those whom we see daily and who would remember what we said/did.

There are other discussion groups out there, and perhaps we should review some of them as an introduction. PErhaps the crossover effect will have them close shop and join our ranks...

then there would be even more grippers and mal-contents....

His pearls of wisdom and no-nonsense approach and straightfowardness are genuinely missed. I agree the board here has changed ( sometimes reminds me of Yahoo) though I never posted much I learned and enjoyed Seanote, Nitro and Oldtrader.

Oldtrader, ya still out there?

He personified why this site can be great.
