There is over 200 years of finalized court decisions stating clearly that local and state governments in the U.S. have the right to lockdown and impose conditions on a community for public health emergencies. If you disagree feel free to file a suit and see how it goes.

There is plenty of information previously discussed regarding the Spanish flu lockdowns and imposition of public health measures (no travel in/out, businesses closed, theaters closed, bars closed, no public gatherings, etc.) by cities.

Spanish flu measures wernt a complete national shutdown. They were far more lenient and regionally dependant. That said, at this point I couldn't care less. Cat is out of the bag and c19 is nearly all hype. Definitely hoax level.

Ouch. Asking if I am basically a media bitch?

Based on my understanding of Covid-19, it is significantly more serious than the flu. Therefore, protective action is an citizen’s obligation to other citizens and our nation.

Given the historical choices presented to “defend” our country, wearing PPE is easier to swallow than, say, the Vietnam era draft. Is it too soon to compare Covid-19 deaths to Vietnam? Are we going to lose the war against Covid, too? Or are we not even going to try to fight it? Because of the inconvenience of some wearing PPE? The inconvenience of those who historically have been the most responsible and productive?

If I were a military planner with hostile intent towards the United States, I would know exactly how to take the US down. $200k or so for equipment, some fervent volunteers, a moblle lab, a endemic virus of two, and a deivery system would be all that it would take.

Think of wearing PPE as practice for disaster presparation and national security prepardness if you must. But please wear PPE during this crisis.
If you want to start comparing the Chinese cold to a war...let’s start comparing it to cancer and heart disease.
It’s a ridiculous analogy that we should not entertain.
