Its a circus of autistic spectrum, mentally inflexible clowns around here... Maybe we todd is agreeing masks need to be improved a good bit.. But someone else will just reset to face covering is pointless as they forgot about virus vs droplet...all or nothing brains.

We need Brad and Jen to make a video. Maybe we can subtitle this with mask discussion like a Hitler downfall meme...

A mask is not the be all and end all of prevention, but I see no problem wearing them if the situation or establishment requires them. It's not that big of an ask for compliance and does no harm unless it's restricting breathing when doing heavy manual labor.
I don't care if folks wear them. I just believe that it's unconstitutional to force people to don them.

Like seat belts?

Too hard a question for you to answer..

Are seat belts constitutional and if not why are there fines?

The article states that cloth mask are ineffective. That is not my opinion. That is the opinion of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons and they reference several studies.

https://aapsonline.org/mask-facts/

Conclusion: Wearing masks will not reduce SARS-CoV-2.
  • N95 masks protect health care workers, but are not recommended for source control transmission.
  • Surgical masks are better than cloth but not very efficient at preventing emissions from infected patients.
  • Cloth masks will be ineffective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 transmission, whether worn as source control or as personal protective equipment (PPE).

When it comes to public health and safety the government can do pretty much whatever they want if there is any substance at all to the argument that whatever they're saying provides safety does in fact give that safety. In the case of masks there is plenty of evidence that wearing a mask does provide "some" safety as opposed to no mask. There are better constitutional hills to fight and die on than mask wearing.

So we need to mandate a minimum of surgical masks or better manufactured and achieve as high a compliance as we can get so there is two way protection. Fine, good.

If you suffocate people they will balk, if you make it too expensive same issue. FFS a friend of mine spent 4000 dollars on an automatic tail bed opener for his truck. You can make Americans get competitive with mask technology same way you can get them to pay 400 bucks for a smoothie blender.

There is overwhelming evidence that countries that did the hygene and mask drives have done very well. A mask is just part of a set of behaviors. We have people IQ 60 and 150 out there, children, elderly with dementia, its not about whether YOU benefit other than by others doing better by good and consistent example.

"Final Thoughts

  • Surgical masks – loose fitting. They are designed to protect the patient from the doctors’ respiratory droplets. The wearer is not protected from others airborne particles

Following your logic, forcing girls to wear chastity belts would be ok.

No, that would not be following my logic. It would expose a worrying part of your mind.

Your objection on constitutional grounds, people had the same arguments with seat belts. All but 1 state requires them and 30 or so for both front and back passengers.

Its a fair analogy to masks and the application of the law in practice.

So, if we have to click it or ticket, and that is unconstitutional, how did that happen anyway and is the anti-mask thing not doomed the same way?
