If your IQ is not low, how do you explain your disbelief in proven science?
Whatever your remaining brainpower is (and you are in cognitive decline) we can see you are mentally lazy.
FYI I make my up own air filters for the apartment, my design uses a particle detector, controller and a electronically variable motor controller to ensure the filter is not making a lot of noise when the air is clean. I hate fan noise and the commercially available units were on/off noise boxes.
As its been difficult to get Merv13 filters since the lockdown I made my own apartment scale unit utilising a combination of active electrostatics and mixed fiber. This took a little research and a lot of time testing materials with my particle detector. I also integrated air cooling (desiccant type) of my own design.
I do happen to understand how masks work, efficency of different materials, three years ago I just had some basic theory but I had someone with a lung disease living with us so I was motivated to learn.
Now please do a little study and then you will have a fucking clue.
I am on the side that masks do minimize infections and death rates. Look at Japan and South Korea where the use of masks is widespread. Compared to other countries, they have pretty low death and infection rates. That said, it is not a panacea. Wearing a mask, you cut off oxygen to your brain and body, add to that, you inhale CO2 that your exhaled? How could that be any good? So, where a mask in areas enclosed with lots of people. Take it off as soon as you are inside your car. Outside where it is windy, when jogging, it makes no sense whatsoever. The wind dissipates any viruses and spreads it out, making the droplets effect on you minimal if any. Take a hot shower after you get back from the grocery store or mall. The hot water should kill any Corona Virus droplets that clinged to your skin. Of course, you do not want the droplets to enter your eyes, mouth or nose. If the Corona Virus droplets get killed by the hot water, you are safe. Put your dirty clothes in the hamper. Open the windows of your rooms and let fresh air in to dissipate any trapped germs and viruses.

A lot of homemade cloth masks are pretty rubbish but this very much depends on the specific fabric or fabrics used and the weave.
Spend a little time on forums where people have lung diseases and you will see many tutorials on making good homemade masks.
Governments should be supplying masks and mandating the minimum efficency of commercially made ones.

Yep, I am making a backpack version for her that provides pure air to a nose canula as she needs positive air pressure, her lungs struggle with anything but large filter masks. She has just 35 percent lung capacity now. Poor thing, her lungs are hyper allergic to basically all organic compounds, car fumes, any fires, avian proteins. At least she is not on oxygen yet.
I have the apartment filtered to around 50 0.3um per m3 (good clean room).

1. Which way is the air flow? Is the air being sucked into the filter, or blown into the filter?
2. Have you measured the increase in current through the fan motor due to the close filter? If so, how much is the increase? Amps?
