Where is the comparison data? Does that mean the previous high was 30 and we're 4 higher?
At Comer Children's Hospital in Chicago's Hyde Park, hospitalizations have spiked in the last month to unprecedented numbers.
Sounds scary. But if the new number is 5 more kids, it could be "unprecedented" but not a big jump. Hard to say because
no data is provided.
Then there's the chart showing what you say is "bed checks". That means the number went from a previous high in July of 6 to 10 now. Big freakin' deal. That's supposed to be scary? its ALSO the middle of the winter, and there are all sorts of reasons as to why that is worse than July for Chicago respiratory diseases! Duh!
Lurie has admitted 40 children with coronavirus in the last week alone. The previous peak the hospital reported was 20 children in a single week in December 2020.
Is this one week's worth? Or have the last few weeks shown 40 admissions? If its just one week, there could be something else at play - like the fact that the prior week was
Christmas.
How did those 40 cases reconcile themselves? Did anyone have severe illnesses other than COVID? Were they admitted for
other things and just had tested positive? These are important facts, but you'll not give any clarity. I wonder why.
